Designers Andrea Fino and Samanta Snidaro have a rather modern take on what today's wine storage should look like. The "Opale" is a refrigerated wine storage cabinet that features an elliptical shape complimented by its smooth rounded base. The Opale from Sand & Birch holds 60 bottles of wine and is able to self manage temperature controls and specific humidity, and features a really cool LED lighting visible through its smoked glass door. See the rest of the cutting edge designs from Sand & Birch here.

Wine is in as is displaying wine for a party in the home or tasting at a local bistro. This wine presentation cabinet comes from the Austrian company, Creosa. Its design draws upon the “display rack” concept familiar in retail. In this example the base is made of concrete and the presentation area is made of acrylic. The product can be found here.

For the wine enthusiast hopefully still in the design stage of their homes, the Spiral Wine Cellar may be the solution to keeping the conditions right for long term wine storage. The Cellars were designed in 1978 by a Frenchmen who realized that most modern homes had no significant place to store wine in the proper conditions that the earth and its constant temperature can provide. The Spiral Wine Cellars are concrete wrapped in a water tight lining and passive ventilation keeps the temperature around 55°. As you might expect these babies aren’t cheap costing around $30,000 for materials and installation, but you only live once and wine make living so much better. Various sizes available to hold 1000 to 1600 bottles. See more from Spiral Cellars here. Via
