Easy On, Easy Off

12:00 am in Wall Decor by Katie

When I was a kid, I remember picking out this awesome pink flower wallpaper border for my new room. I was so excited for it to go up, and once it adorned the walls of my pink room, I was sick of it after about a week. There are so many cool wallpaper patterns available, and now as an adult I worry about even going there because I know I would get sick of it way sooner than later.

And then I heard about Ink Shuffle. At InkShuffle.com, you can find tons of wall murals – that are fully removable. And affordable! Where were they when I was living in my pink room? Or when I was renting an apartment or living in a college dorm? These would be perfect for rentals and temporary living.

Oh, and they’re eco-friendly! They’re like the Prince William full package of wall décor. According to their website, Ink Shuffle products are easy to install, as well. The murals and such come pre-pasted, so you soak them in water for approximately two minutes and you’re ready to go. There is a huge variety of different patterns to choose from – from cutesy kids patterns to mature adult scenery.

And then, when you’re sick of it or ready for a change, you peel that baby right off. Nice, right?

But I’ve saved the best part for last. You can upload your own photo. Yup, that’s right. Check it out!

How cool is that? But seriously, if you check out InkShuffle.com, beware: you may spend a lotttt of time there!

Where would you put your Ink Shuffle mural? I’m thinking I’d like mine in the living room behind the sofa, or maybe in the hallway, or by the kitchen table…too many good places for one of these!

Fool Your Friends with Wild Wallpaper

1:20 am in 未分类 by Katie

Yesterday, the design blog Trendir covered the awesome wallpaper above. Yes! That’s wallpaper – isn’t it fun? In the photos, the paper really looks like real leather, real panels and real bookshelves! I’m curious to see what they look like in person…

These wallpapers are a great idea for a temporary living space, or an apartment where you don’t have much control over the physical decor. They can really be used in any home…but do you think you’d miss the actual texture that the wood panelling provides?

What I would pay to see is a guest reaching for one of those books!

Anyway, the wallpaper is made by Mineheart, a UK based company founded in 2010. In addition to the wild wallpapers shown here, there are several others on their website that you’ve got to check out.

Another question I have is: how would you decorate with these wallpapers? Here’s what I’m thinking:

How about this tufted leather wallpaper with a tufted leather sofa – too much?!

A quick, easy way to add textures, colors and patterns to your bedroom without breaking the bank is by cutting out a wallpaper headboard.

It gives you the freedom to choose any color palette and pattern that you desire, and you can easily change it whenever you tire of the pattern. I’d probably change mine every six months!

Would you put a wallpaper headboard in your bedroom?

Shadows and Light, Walls Delight

Now, I know we’ve posted about some 3D wall panels before, but I don’t think any of them were made by a group that specializes in just that – making your walls spectacularly professional in a way that’s so rare you can’t help but look up in awe of it. These are Dimensional Wall Panels by 3DWalldecor. Each of them is modular, easy to apply, and easy to paint. Light and shadows made for fantastical looks and feels.

Each panel is made of environmentally friendly bamboo pulp, perfectly suitable for decorating walls and ceilings in any manner of location. Homes, shops, restaurants, offices, and meeting areas are all amongst the groups suggested locations for such divine building blocks. When I post this, there are four designs available. This group and this project are brand new and I wouldn’t be surprised if it blew the heck up over night with insane popularity and mad internet spread.

Saratech Permasorb Wallpaper Purifies The Air Around You

2:58 am in General, Wall Decorating by Tanya

First a kitchen surface with antibacterial properties and now a wallpaper that purifies air, looks like everything is about fighting germs these days. Germany based Blücher Technologies have patented the Saratech Permasorb Wallpaper which isolates air-borne pollutants and ensures that a space doesn't get contaminated. The "breathable, glass fiber/polyester non-woven paper-like covering even gets rid of PCB, PCP, pesticides etc and may just be a godsend for those with low-immunity (present company included).

Concrete Wall Wallpapers Make Your Turn Your Home Into a Modern Work of Art

10:09 am in Modern Design, Modern Furniture & Design by chris

I'll admit from the start I'm not much of a fan of these Concrete Wall wallpapers. Sure I appreciate the imagination and the effort behind their design, but most of them, and there are plenty of versions to choose from, seem too depressing for me and therefore I would think more than twice before choosing them for my new home. But the Concrete Wall patterns look pretty real and they might fit quite well with a few modern designs even if they're not necessarily going to make it into too many family homes. The Concrete Wall wallpapers are now available to order, so go grab them if you fancy them. Via Concrete Wall
