The Red Nest is an interesting design that makes the most of small apartments. It's a modular design that offers plenty of storage space, a sleeping area and a working area, but we'll notice there's no kitchen area. The red coat of paint combined with a couple of strategically placed mirrors make the whole room seem a lot bigger than it actually is. The bookshelf is a mobile unit meant to hide the bed or the working area, according to your needs. The bathroom is also worth noticing since, as you can imagine, it doesn't offer that much space either. At the recent Salone del Mobile in Milan, Porro has a display called, "This is a Box". A chief designer in the exhibit was Piero Lissoni who was last involved in the Porro display from 1997. In this theme, the use of a square module in space creates an organized approach to room design. A system of shelving, units and worktops create a space for living and working. Today's lifestyle reflects the blending of all those activities necessitating their adoption into designing spaces. The use of single colors like yellow, blue and magenta further accent the blending of all of those objects into a single space.
