Often with space a challenge for decorating a room it makes sense to go with items that don't dominate a room's appearance. This small leather couch fits that mold. Folding barstools are a great idea in small spaces as they can be put away when not in use. This product called "pocket stool wood" was designed by Robby Cantarutti & Francesca Petricich. The spirit of the design was to create a pocket-size barstool for smaller places. A nice feature about this product is the fact that it is made of beech where so many folding barstools today are not made of real wood. More information: here.

At Furniture Fashion our hat’s off to Verena Lang founder of Ivydesign. We hear a lot of requests from readers living in small apartments about the challenge of space planning and furniture. This product from Verena is called “Picture Table”. The neat thing about Picture Table is how it can provide a table and even a place for guests to dine on, and then fold-up into a picture on a wall. The picture looks perfectly natural and in no way looks like a table. There is also a mirror version as well if a mirror is preferred over a picture. For our urban living friends, we often hear the complaints of having very limited space despite a great geographical location. That is why I was excited to see this small room furniture concept created by Isis Design of Germany. It appears as a normal size box that is attractively finished in white. Many of us could stand to adopt some Zen principles to try and slow down our lives and create more quiet serenity. This small Zen fountain is designed to create a contemplative space in a place of your choosing such as office, apartment or house. The Zen fountain is comprised of a copper bowl, two copper bars, tumbled slate, trickling water and a flickering tea light. Our friends at Freshome showcased this concept furniture designed for a small kitchen. The kitchen table is called “Accordion” and it was designed by Russian designer, Olga Kalugin. The neat thing about the design is its ability to expand as well as the cool storage areas. I also find the contemporary appearance a “fresh look”.
