At the Milan Design Week 2010, Gilli Kuchik of Bakery will present a cutting-edge chair made from a proprietary technique called "Elastic Wood". As the name suggests "Elastic Wood" will focus on making wood a more flexible material. This is achieved by using wood and an elastic material together in the process of molding.

If you intend on catching all the action at the Milan Furniture Fair next week then do stop at the exhibition at Spazio Corso Como 9, to see the "Crys" modular table in person. This uber-cool table not only looks good but also takes in consideration our technologically dependent lives. The minimalistically designed table comes with plugs to accommodate our diverse electrical needs! The table top has been manufactured from natural treated oak and the legs from solid natural treated oak. The "Crys" table is the brainchild of Danish-Japanese designer duo, Inoda and Sveje.

At Salone Internazionale Del Mobile: Emeco’s 111 Coca Cola Pet Bottles Navy Chair

At this day and age, we all should adhere to the "Go Green" mantra. Interestingly the A&D field has been able to prove that recycled objects don't necessary translate into ugly. Product designers all over the world are showcasing their commitment to material reclamation by making some stunning sustainable furniture. Case in point, Emeco's 111 Coca Cola Pet Bottles Navy Chair which as the name suggests is made of 111 discarded bottles and according to Emeco they expect to use about 3,000,000 plastic beverage bottles each year in production! The chair is solely made of plastic PET bottles (about 65% post consumer content) and will be exhibiting at the Milan Furniture Fair.

Italian manufactures Magis will showcase their latest collections at the 2010, Milan International Furniture Fair. As usual their designs come with a twist and boasts of cutting-edge technology. Some highlights from the collection include; the "Sparkling Chair and the "Troy Chair by renowned designer Marcel Wander. While the former has been made by using the blow moulding technique and has legs that looks like soda bottles, the latter has stunning motifs on it.

Flexibility seems to be in demand, well at least in the furniture world. More and more manufacturers are introducing modular seating arrangement that not only look fantastic but also establish an interactive relationship with the consumer.'Just B.FLEX' by French designer Marine Peyre is all about customization and flexibility as the seating system consists of 3 to 5 elements which vary in size and are upholstered in different fabrics. This high end prototype will be exhibited at the Salone del Mobile 2010 Fair by Atelier Domeau & Peres.
