It’s taken a lot of designers to come up with this idea, so I guess we better humor them! What we have here is a public bench called Fresh Chair, a place where you can stop and rest. An integrated plant-world coexists with the comfort zone and is used to trap and harness energy to power LEDs as night lights. They also provide a cooling mist during the summer heat. Maybe they can replace the lush palm trees dotting Dubai with Fresh Chair, what do you think?

Writing all the time on Furniture Fashion, it is not often that we come across round furniture arrangements compared to the more typical square or rectangular shapes. Offices and public spaces that are seeking round or circular spatial relationships in their seating needs may be drawn to this type of arrangement. This product is called "Kurve" and was designed by Niels Gammelgaard. The design inspiration for Kurve came from a garden complex in Barcelona, Spain called Park Guell. There a particular bench mimics the shape of a sea serpent. More information: here.

It's hard not to get excited about Sleepbox, an office workstation and resting pod designed for public places like train stations, airports and bus terminals. These small pods are rental units that provide travelers peace and quite as well as a place to work. More aggressive urban areas may even consider these for use on the streets or as a solution for the homeless. Sleepbox comes equipped with wi-fi, electric plugs, TV, a ventilation system and charging sockets for cell phones. The bed linen is changed automatically to ensure proper hygiene standards are kept. Currently, there is construction of these units in the Dubai airport with hopefully more places to follow. More information: here.
