At the recent Salone del Mobile in Milan, Porro has a display called, "This is a Box". A chief designer in the exhibit was Piero Lissoni who was last involved in the Porro display from 1997. In this theme, the use of a square module in space creates an organized approach to room design. A system of shelving, units and worktops create a space for living and working. Today's lifestyle reflects the blending of all those activities necessitating their adoption into designing spaces. The use of single colors like yellow, blue and magenta further accent the blending of all of those objects into a single space.

I have to say that I love this bedside table from Porro Furniture called "Balancing Boxes". It was created by the Swedish design group "Front", whose four members include Anna Lindgren, Katja Sävström, Sofia Lagerkvist and Charlotte von der Lancken. The concept of boxes providing storage and acting as a table top surface is an insightful idea. The way the boxes pivot on themselves melds both art and furniture into one statement. These closet design ideas come from Porro of Italy and represent most of their solutions. Porro's offerings include models of reach-in and walk-in closets. Though their pictures might show a sparsely used space, in real life the closet would likely be full of clothes. A nice feature in their systems is how they use doors that blend in well in a room even while the closet may extend the whole distance of a wall. It is nice that despite using the entire length of the wall, the room does not seem overbalanced. More information: here.
