The surrealistically designed Vessel Lamps have a very ethereal quality to them that catches the eye instantly. In fact the almost ghostly flicker of the light makes it an ideal albeit refined Halloween decor light. Designed by Samuel Wilkinson, the pendant lamps "celebrate the bulb from a different perspective" thus the holographic imagery produced by the irregular reflection is no happenstance. For the Vessel Lamps, Wilkinson uses mouth blown glass forms that were deliberately cut in distinct angles.

From the pictures posted below, I can't decide what I covet more, the wall or the lamp. However since this write-up is about the Armadillo Lamp, its only fair we focus our energies on it rather than the background. Designed by Lzf, this exquisite lamp was first spotted at the Valencia Design Week where it created a lot of buzz. The Armadillo Lamp's discordant look is no coincidence and the innovative design trajectory adapted by Lzf keeps pace with the thriving design scene. The Armadillo pendant lamp is made from dozens of wood veneer squares and in case you are wondering, so is the wall behind it.

"Favourite Things" is a quirkily designed pendant lamp from Chen Karlsson who lists Scandinavian and Asian design tradition as their inspiration. Design enthusiasts will appreciate the thought process behind "Favourite Things" since the idea is to highlight or put the spotlight on your treasured objects which can range from a favorite figurine (as pictured below) or a souvenir your picked from an exotic location.

Traditionally speaking, wood as a material for a light fixture, is an unconventional choice but anything is possible in the wonderful world of A&D. The brilliant (non pun intended) Miss Maple Pendant Lamp is a captivating juxtaposition of simplicity and complexity. A brainchild of German designer Elisa Strozyk, the lamp is made up of small wooden triangles that not only looks stunning but gives the consumer versatility since the shape is flexible.

In the A&D field, the ubiquitous lamp keeps changing and it's fascinating to watch it get reinvented. The quirkily designed Pendant Teelight is one of the many examples on how lighting objects don't have to be just primarily functional. Inspired by a tea cup, the lamp resembles an upside tea cup along with its very own tea bag. No, you won't be able to make tea with it as the tea bag is actually the switch. Told you its clever. It is available for purchase here.

If vibrant hues, dramatic shapes and whacky designs gets your creative juices flowing then check out the Spacewalker. A brainchild of the inimitable Constantin Wortmann the pendant/floor lamp is part whimsical, part outrageous and a whole lot fun. The futuristic theme defines the lamp as the Spacewalker is suppose to be a "friendly creature exploring new territory to put a smile on your face." The resemblance to the Martians from Tim Burton's Mars Attacks is uncanny and another reason why we love this little bugger so much.
