Portable burners come in a range of designs powered by various sources but for the most part, they are still very basic and crude. The iMove your Hotplate system is a sleek burner with removable hotplates. The concept is designed for campers and small households but I don’t see why a larger version wouldn’t work in traditional setups. This would much easier to clean.

Inspired by China’s densely populated urban areas, designer Colin Pan sought to design a conceptual vehicle that would satisfy young people who like the accessibility of electric bikes as well as older adults with families who prefer compact cars. The result is this years entry into the Michelin Challenge Design showcase, MBOLIC, a modern modular family car that can separate into 2 gyro-balanced personal vehicles for easy maneuvering in city traffic.

This contemporary and functional modular lighting concept allows users to create the perfect arrangement depending on size or intention. Suspended from the ceiling or adapted to a table lamp base, the object can live 2-dimensionally or the components can be rotated and conjoined creating a unique 3-D form. I love the floating “chemical structure” look of the finished product.

Imagine using a flexible LED solar panel as traffic signal! The idea is awesome. It can be installed on any existing circular base like a tree or a utility pole. So there you have a tree that’s a prime spot for a pedestrian signal, and here is this flexi strip waiting to be coiled around the tree! Easy urban and rural installation.

Behold another modular furniture idea! The Dune Modular Sofa will let you change your overall living room setup depending on your mood or your needs. The sofa is made of various seats that slide in order to offer you more seating space not to mention some very creative's sofa shapes. The Dune Sofa also comes in a regular version, "with straight cushions" but the really interesting one is the modular version that lets you move the various pieces around the room. There are various cushion shapes to consider and you can truly customize the way your Dune Modular Sofa will ship in such a way that you can almost be certain that nobody else has the exact similar design; at least in your neighborhood. Industrial designer Andrea Dentoni is based in Italy which is no doubt the Mecca for quality contemporary furniture. All his creations seem to transcend the cliched design trajectories and each piece bears his individualistic stamp. The Poltroncina Seating Unit is no different since its make a radical departure from the usually prosaic seating arrangements. Inspired by an array of geometrical shapes, Poltroncina works thanks to its quirky seating pattern and funky color palette. At the heart of the seating system lies the Trapezoidal shaped unit which acts as a central hub and encourages dialogue between those using it.Suitable for both domestic and public spaces, the modular seating unit is available in multiple configurations.
