Not everyone in the room will like the idea of desecrating a Pinball machine and turn it into a coffee table like we showed you the other day so for those people I have an alternative today. The simple Edgewire table designed by Alex Sacchetti might be exactly the kind of table you are looking for. As you can clearly see the table has a very simple yet fashionable design and the Edgewire will fit with various other modern furniture elements in your home. The Edgewire table is made of an aluminum edge that also acts as the table's legs and a 12mm thick glass top. While that glass is definitely durable, make sure you avoid unwanted accidents by not placing too much stuff on the Edgewire table. That's of course if you decide to go for such a table design in the first place. Via Alex Sacchetti

"Furniture with Memory" has been conceptualized by Warsaw-based designer and artist Agnieszka Lastoa and we applaud her for creating a product that is relevant to our times. The collection is a testament to man's technological progress and his yearning for holding on to his roots. The pièce de résistance of the collection is no doubt the a 90-year old oak dining table that has been encased in an electro-polarized glass which when activated, projects digital images on the surface itself.

Footprints in the sand always make for some lovely and poignant imagery, so it doesn't surprise us that designer Nicholas Langan decided to recreate the illusion in wood. Langan's Footprint Table may be an ode to Mary Stevenson's touching Footprints in the Sand poem or just the designers own desire to leave a mark in the A&D scene, whatever the motivation no one can deny its appeal. The table has been made from solid oak and is finished with oil and then using modern day technology, Langan indents the footprints around the top and the underside.

Ping-Pong is becoming quite the "IT" Game thanks to the "Spin" Clubs in the States and celebrities like Susan Sarandon who are patronizing the game. The Chalk ping-pong table by studio Aruliden for Puma cashes on to this trend and according to them it is perfect for the after-hours athlete," who likes to socialize over drinks and a game of ping-pong. The hip design is no coincidence and the chalkboard surface allows players to write down their scores, game stats and even profanities to maintain a banter! There is also ample storage space below the surface which ensures you don't need to run to the kitchen to get your snacks and beer.

As a general rule, most tables tend to be static, but thats not the case with the Rotating Squares Table which is all about movement. Designed by Tom Cecil, the core of the Rotating Squares Table is its small wooden blocks that can be moved around to create diverse patterns without taking away from the primordial properties of the table itself. Made from oiled birch plywood, the Rotating Squares Table is not cheap since the most basic avatar will cost you around £2000.

Did your heart just skip a beat after glancing at the EKG Coffee Table? Well then mission accomplished since the table has sought design inspiration from a beating heart or more accurately a wave pattern of an electrocardiogram. Curvy at the right angles, the sophisticated table is a brainchild of designer Bettina Nissen who cleverly bended white acrylic and used a steel base for support. One of the most stylish coffee tables out there and i am sure design connoisseurs will buy it in a heartbeat (no pun intended).

Its no secret that Apple aficionados (including yours truly) are finicky when it comes to elements like design, aesthetics etc and the Milk Workstation has taken this in consideration. Designed for the mac community, this streamlined desk may be a tad over-engineered but no one can doubt its contemporary appeal. There is a thought behind every each design decision and minimalism is the key here. So those who want to perch their Macs prettily and have quick access to their iPods, iPhones and their Mighty Mouse know what to shop for.

Kipling may have believed "East is East, and West is West, and never the twain shall meet" but this doesn't hold true in the designsphere. Western industrial designers are constantly seeking inspiration from the exotic east and their cultural heritage. Australian company, Zaishu's Asian inspired series of flat-pack stools/chairs/tables adapt eastern aesthetics for western sensibilities by employing historic iconography, silkscreen hand printed artwork and even Asian design techniques.

The Japanese art of Origami has been embraced wholeheartedly by the design continuum as we keep coming across beautiful contemporary renditions time and time again of this traditional craft. The Cootie Catcher (the name itself makes it a deserving candidate to be featured here) Table re-imagines the ancient art and give it a bold modern twist with its sculpturistic structure. Designer Vivien Muller uses aluminum as the main material and isn't scared to dot the the base with nuts and bolts.
