The Boat Sofa is a simplistic, modern sofa that is extremely and non-traditionally multifunctional.

The Boat Sofa is designed by Korean designer Bongyoel Yang. The Boat Sofa would be an ideal sofa for those that live in flood zones and are often effected by water close to their home.

Framed by birch wood, the V-Two Sofa is upholstered in two-toned fabric. It has angles created by its geometric design that allow for minimal storage or display of accent pieces or accessories.

The Form Follows Function Sofa is a modern step away from the ordinary cushioned sofa.

Designed by Daan Mulder, the Form Follows Function Sofa was inspired by the “craze for organic liquid and forms.” Mulder’s “aim was to create a sofa where all functions arise out of one current line.” ( http://www.daanmulder.eu/FFF_bank_11.html)

The Form Follows Function Sofa is made from three steel plates that are each 1.5 millimeter thick. A silver paint gives the modern sofa its final look.

Daan Mulder is based out of Amsterdam and wears many design hats, including carpenter, architect, interior designer and furniture designer.

No fear – the pieces within the Brick Series are far more comfortable than actual bricks. In fact, the Brick Series is an architectural collection that mimicks the act of bricklaying, as you can see the cozy stacks of cushions.  Designed by KiBiSi, their website states that the series “explores the tectonic of bricklaying to stack sandbag-like cushions into architecture for comfort.”

The Brick series, designed for Versus and available through their website, consists of a pouf, chair, armchair, two-seater and three-seater. The plush cushions with polyurethane foam are tied together with buttons made from molded fiber concrete.

KibiSi, the designers behind the Brick series, is a Copenhagen-based firm of industrial design. It was started by three partners each with a different specialty. The Ki in KiBiSi comes from Lars Holme Larsen of Kilo Design, the Bi from Bjarke Ingels of BIG Architecture and Jens Martin Skibsted of Skibsted Ideation. The Slice Sofa is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Consisting of an outer shell and a soft inner cushion, the general design of the Slice Sofa is intended to imitate the protective mechanism seen in animals such as the armadillo or turtle. As in the animals’ build, the outer shell of the sofa provides comfort and the inner cushion provides comfort.

The Slice is upholstered in fabric, and can be custom made in the customer’s own materials. Cushion covers are removable for easy cleaning. Ideal for small spaces, the Slice has four modules and a lightweight frame.

Named for the slices made in the triangular cushions, the Slice Sofa is designed and manufactured by Boneli, a modern furniture company in the United Kingdom.

Designed by Alexander Petunin, Russian architect and designer, the Pink Alien is a modern double sofa with clean shapes and bright colors. The Pink Alien sofa is bright white with a hollow back and armrests that open to reveal a vibrant pink color that beautifully accents the white. The sloping curves of the Pink Alien combined with the modern colors qualify it as the ideal sofa for the ultra-contemporary home.

Seclude yourself from the outside world in the comfortable Hut High Sofa. Designed by Fredrik Mattson for Bla Station, the Hut High Sofa is a cozy retreat for an afternoon and a good book.

Known as the Koja High Sofa in Swedish, the Hut is also available in a low version of the sofa and both high and low versions of an armchair. But why wouldn’t you want the privacy of the Hut High Sofa?

The top part of the sofa is covered in fabric filled with polyether while the seat is fluffed with soft down cushions. The frame of the sofa is made from a durable wood construction, in your choice of a white lacquer or ebonized ash finish. The Hut High Sofa is suitable for commercial use.
