Wood or Woodn’t?

9:24 pm in SixDW: A New Beginning by Lyn

This morning, I came across these wood mosaic tiles from Mosaico+ on Trendir and I’m loving the combination of the different wood finishes with the glass, metal or stone tiles.

How great would these look in a restaurant or in a fun, hip bar?  But the real question is, WOOD you put these in your home?

Red, white and blue is floating around everywhere, especially on these lovely tabletops.

You can go the DIY route and create your own Independence Day banner and cake decor, as in the first image above. There are also so many festive items that can be used as they are, such as the fun pinwheels used as a centerpiece in the second image.

Do you decorate your home for the 4th of July? Are you mainly a DIY-er or an improviser? We’d love to hear your tips!

Neoroc

9:51 pm in Modern Accessories, SixDW: A New Beginning by Lyn

Described as being “like a street kid who spends all their time in a library,” the Neoroc trays have a angled Rococo style with a modern brightness.

Neoroc is made from 100% recyclable LDPE, or low-density polyethylene. It is available in a variety of vibrant colors – aniseed black, snow white, fairy floss pink, lime fizz, sky blue and tang orange.

Neoroc is perfect for the Summer because it can float. Pop some daiquiris and margaritas on the Neoroc and let it float around the pool for whomever wants a beverage. It also has a removable plug on the bottom. If you remove that, fill the Neoroc 3/4’s of the way full with water and then freeze overnight, you’ve got a stylish ice pack or a chilled tray to keep beverages cold throughout the day.

Neoroc is made by luxxbox and can be purchased directly through their website.

Paper Pots

12:18 am in SixDW: A New Beginning by Lyn

Since the Winter season brings a lot of sniffles, why not put tissues on display without sacrificing style? Paper Pots allow you to do just that.

Made of durable ABS, the Paper Pot enables you to store tissues in a fashionable way. As shown below, Paper Pots are available in a variety of bright, glossy colors, or in a matte black. To get creative, the Paper Pots work interchangeably, so you can buy two different colors and switch the tops to have mis-matched pots.

Paper Pots are available at MollaSpace for $40 each, plus shipping. They can also be used for toliet paper, if you aren’t a big tissue person!

Picture Frames that POP

11:15 pm in SixDW: A New Beginning by Lyn

The Picture Frames from Vidame Creation literally pop photos and artwork out of your walls and tables.

Designed by Julian Vidame, Picture Frames are made from polished stainless steel wires that attach to a brushed stainless steel plate. The plates are available in either a wall-mounting version or a free-standing version.  The polished stainless steel wires have triangles that grab on to the edges of the photo.

The designer created Picture Frames because he thinks “a picture is more important than the frame, which must disappear.”

Julian Vidame is the designer behind Vidame Creation, based out of France. For more contemporary items from Vidame Creation, take a look at their website at http://www.vidamecreation.com.

Wall Piercing

3:07 am in Modern Lighting, SixDW: A New Beginning by Lyn

Unlike body piercing, Wallpiercing is pain-free!  And easier to maintain, we’re sure.

Designed by Ron Gilad for Flos – Soft Architecture, Wallpiercing is an innovative and eco-friendly lighting fixture. Flos- Soft Architecture is a collection of contemporary lighting fixtures designed from sustainable materials.

Wallpiercing is made of color changing LEDs that allows for many different structures and color varieties. Initially, Wallpiercing is made within mobile plaster and then mounted into suspended ceilings or false walls. The rings of Wallpiercing can be displayed individually, or in pairs as seen above.
