9:55 pm in Lamps, Lamps & Lighting, Lights by Tanya

Barlas Baylar's Flower Power Chandeliers are unapologetically gothic in nature and quite a relief from the usual modish lamps. Macabre, brooding and captivating, the Flower Power collection is a cascade of wrought-iron tendrils that seem to embrace its dark side. The collection is available in various wicked avatars, so head over to the website of Hudson Furniture to witness this hedonistic collection.

Modular And Customizable Mobil Pixel Lamp

5:53 pm in Lamps, Lamps & Lighting, Lights by Tanya

The pixel is emerging as quite a favorite among design aficionados which is not surprising since the ubiquitous pixel pretty much dominates our multi-media existence. Hungarian designer and artist Istaván Kulinyi also shows affinity to the pixel by conceptualizing the Mobil Pixel Lamp. Made up of 5 blocks across and 5 blocks down, the lamp measures 5 x 5 x 3 and even gives the consumer an option of customization as one can play around with the light blocks.

3D Like Volume.MGX Table Lamp

5:01 pm in Lamps, Lamps & Lighting, Lights, Table Lamps by Tanya

The Volume.MGX Table Lamp evokes an instant sense of surrealism and provides a multi-sensory experience with its stunning play of light and shadow. Conceptualized by Simon Spagnoletti, the cube shaped lamp strives for the highest echelon of design by embracing cutting-edge techniques like 3D printing and "squared square geometry" application. The lamp like a phoenix rises from a completely flattened position to light up any dynamic space.

Ginger Chandelier From Micron Lighting

2:43 am in Lamps, Lamps & Lighting, Lights by Tanya

The Ginger Chandelier from Micron Lighting assuages all the senses thanks to its bold and striking design. Doing away with conventional design bastions, the chandelier is dotted with crystal rings that sparkle in a perfect circular symphony and give an illusion of floating in the air. The multi-colored rings dazzle when lit and set in motion a sparkling melange of light and color.

"Inspired not Expired" Lamp By Clab4Design

10:37 pm in Lamps, Lamps & Lighting, Lights by Tanya

The "Inspired not Expired" Lamp by Clab4Design has been designed for those who love to keep their creative juices flowing and play with a diverse palette of ideas. The lamp is essentially a natural solid wood cube 10 cm per side that can be used as one desires. Quite a design twist to the quintessential don't you think and I personally think even children can explore their creative side with it.

MADLAB’s Bacterioptica Chandelier Made Of Petri Dishes!

9:47 am in Lamps, Lamps & Lighting, Lights by Tanya

MADLAB's Bacterioptica Chandelier is not for the faint-hearted as this unique chandelier is made of Petri dishes, metal rods and 15,000 feet of fiber optics and in case you are wondering yes the petri dishes do have real bacteria in it. This quirky chandelier is suppose to be an extension of a NJ based family which includes a couple, their three children, a dog, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and of course everyone's favorite house-guests like insects, allergens, fungi, and billions of bacteria(I jest).

The Quirky Bread Lampshade Collection

6:07 am in Eco Friendly, Lamps, Lamps & Lighting, Lighting by Tanya

Okay, I admit it, I like bread as much as the next person but not sure if I would want it hanging from my ceiling (even on those horrid no carb days). However the Bread Lampshade collection makes me rethink my position on bread as an aesthetic object since its eye-catching and eco-friendly. Designed by Dominic Wilcox, the lamps are composed of used bread flour and have been varnished to keep the pesky fungus away.

Wall Mounted Leaf Lamp By Andreu Carulla

7:58 pm in Lamps, Lamps & Lighting, Modern Lamps by Tanya

The disheveled elegance of the Leaf Lamp is no coincidence and the etherial designs draws you into a hypnotic introspection. Designed by Andreu Carulla, the lamp has been made of polymer concrete and is suppose to be integrated onto the wall itself making them a great solution for those who are confined by space.

The GIRA Lamp Offers 300,000 Hours Of Light

1:00 am in Lamps, Lamps & Lighting, Lighting by chris

Are you interested to transform your home into an eco-friendly environment? Then you'll probably want to start saving on energy consumption too by getting as many efficient lamps and light sources as possible. One such light source is the GIRA lamp, which will help you save some precious energy each day. The GIRA looks like a hourglass and, after every two-hours of usage, the GIRA dims down and you'll have to flip it upside down to turn it back on again. The GIRA comes with a 9V Lithium-ion battery that will offer you no less than 300,000 hours of light on a single charge. Speaking of charging, you'll recharge that battery with the help of an induction dock, which means the GIRA doesn't require any wires and can be moved freely around your eco-friendly house.
