The Island of Malta is located just south of Sicily and is viewed as a stepping stone into the African continent. The villa or palazzo, Italian for “private residence”, is located in the town of Rabat. Malta is a member of the EU and is accustomed to glitter and stardom having hosted filming for movies such as Gladiator, Count of Monte Cristo, Alexander and U-571. The Malta villa underwent a renovation to update the interiors to a more modern décor and to add important features needed in everyday living such as wi-fi. One sitting room in particular really boasts of bold colors drawing upon the influence of its nearby Tunisian and Libyan neighbors. Our friends at Freshome showcased this concept furniture designed for a small kitchen. The kitchen table is called “Accordion” and it was designed by Russian designer, Olga Kalugin. The neat thing about the design is its ability to expand as well as the cool storage areas. I also find the contemporary appearance a “fresh look”.
