Culinary articulation in the kitchen is not really my forte however something like the Solar Ibex Cooker may just act as a muse. This eco-friendly cooker hardly looks like a cooking device and bears an uncanny resemblance to a satellite dish making it stand apart from the rest of the clique. You can cook and boil upto 300 degrees celsius and the in built gear motors along with the auto tracking sun ray concentrator ensures its always facing the sun to leave zero carbon footprint. For those who are not blessed with sunny weather or cooking skills, there is always good old take out!

Designer Ryan Klinger's Eco-Friendly Empower Rocking Chair keeps pace with the current thriving A&D scene where renewable energy is superseding other traditional energies. The idea behind the concept chair is simple, rock on and produce energy to power up all the necessary evils like laptops, mobile phones and other portable electronic devices via an USB outlet. A great concept and we would love to see it in commercial spaces like airports, hospitals and even lounge bars.

"Design with a conscious" is one of those 21st century A&D trends that have really caught on and are no longer associated with tjhe idealists or the eco-police. Every inch of our urban existence is dependent on some form of energy so it makes sense to design products that actually track our consumption. The Belkin Conserve Insight does just that and also gives you information on the amount of CO2 emitted by your appliances, or the cost of operation. So if your refrigerator is consuming too much electricity then chuck it for the environment and even your wallet.

Cook up a storm without polluting the environment. Check out the energy efficient cooking unit, Catalyst that consists of a hood, a microwave oven, a fryer, and cook top. Designed by Vasundhara Parakh for the Indian market, the unit's hood is modular and is able to absorb the storing vapors.

If your wanderlust takes your anytime soon to the city of London, then do make the Lik+Neon Shop a part of your travel itinerary. No, I am not telling you to shop till you drop (though thats a plan too) but want you to check out the interiors of the shop. The highlight is no doubt the lighting which is made entirely of plastic milk bottles! A brainchild of designer Gitta Gschwendtner, the Eco-chic interiors are an eclectic mix of minimalism, luxurious styling and experimentation.

Gone are the days when wallpapers meant nauseatingly bad floral prints ( the kind commonly found in your grandmothers home). Today the design market is full wallpapers that epitomize elegance and also feature stunning motifs. I think OLED wallpapers by Lomox can also become quite a rage since not only will they make a striking design statement but will also be energy efficient when compared to compact fluorescent bulbs. This efficient organic LED (OLED) lighting technology should debut in 2012 and the Welsh company has already been awarded a £454k grant by the Carbon Trust. So do you think these wallpaper concepts can spell the end of the trusty lightbulb?
