Contemporary Clocks for the Desk by Nava Design

5:00 pm in Accessories, Clocks, Contemporary, Desk, General, Modern, gifts, office by John

Both of these contemporary clocks for the desk come from Nava Design and use numbers to make an artistic statement. Whether we choose to believe it or not, numbers always have us "coming and going" whether it's trying to catch a flight, rush home to see the kids or figure out when the work day ends. The first model pictured shows the numbers all jumbled on the bottom and is fittingly called the "Jetlag Clock". The other version is called "Time Square Mini Numeri". Each clock retails for $120 HERE.

Nucleo: Where Furniture and Art Come Together in Design

5:56 pm in Art, Contemporary, Cool, Design, Exhibit, Furniture, Gallery, Home, House, Modern, Modern Furniture & Design by John

It can be said that "being primitive" takes design down to its deepest roots by breaking it down to its basic concepts. These designs come from Nucleo and feature three of their collections: Primitive, PH and Terra. Each of these themes provides a unique experience designed for both the furniture and art enthusiast.

abstract tables
artistic lighting
furniture construction

Primitive: The workmanship makes unrepeatable and unique objects: made entirely by hand without the use of presswork and finished with non-toxic resins that reveal signs and imperfections. Living Primitive elements reflect on elementary forms used by Le Corbusier to create architectural and urban space. The return to structure is a twentieth Century leit-motiv, with artistic avant-garde, from Cubism, to Abstract art, to Constructivism, Suprematism. The art is free from 'enslavement' to the subject, able to translate the motions of the human soul with the pure colour or pure form.

PH Series: Inspired by molecular structures and crystal lattices created when atoms bond to one another, PH is a pentagonal modular made in expanded polyurethane. The pentagonal shape allows an ample number of configurations by drawing closer the various sides.

Terra: Terra is not a finished product, is an idea; we provide the cardboard frame and the seeds, the main ingredient, the dirt can be found everywhere on our planet. The armchair is born in your garden and becomes part of your landscape.
Terra! is not only a grass arm-chair, is an arm-chair of the world; if you are in a desolate suburb surrounded with cement, make it out of cement, if you live in front of an American highway, make it out of asphalt, if you are in the north pole use the snow. More information: here.

Chat Sofa and Chair Colorful Furniture Suggestions

4:00 am in Colorful, Colors, Contemporary, Decorating, Design, Furniture, Home, House, Ideas, Sofa, Sofas by John

This morning I was looking for colorful furniture suggestions and came across the Chat Sofa and Chair by Soft Line. Chat falls somewhere between a chair and a sofa due to its size smaller than an average sofa. This example is a bit bolder with two colors making a strong statement. A more subtle example might be black and white paired together which is common in contemporary decorating settings. More product information: here.

Pier One Contemporary Design Project in Carinthia Austria

6:00 pm in Contemporary, Design, General by John

As a contemporary design project, “Pier One” has unusual aspects in that it is a retail establishment on a pier as opposed to the typical office building or residential project. This design was created by Project A01 Architects of Vienna. Pier One was designed to create a unique space for a bar and restaurant on Lake Millstätter in Carinthia, Austria. When completed, the structure can be reached by boat or by foot. Furniture Fashion looks forward to seeing the completed structure to see how it turns out. Via.

Leggera : The Coolest Bathtub / Shower on Any Block

10:56 am in Bathroom, Bathroom Design & Furniture, Contemporary, Home Decor, Interior Design, Italian, Modern by Will

Ceramica Flaminia of Italy has my vote for the coolest modern shower tub / bathtub design. The “Leggera” is anything but the same old oval or rectangular design, rather a dramatic square shape with thin delicate lines that “cup the water like a folded tissue” instead of holding it. The Leggera bathtub from designer Gilda Borgnini represents the ultimate in bathroom concepts from Flaminia, a leader in the field of Vitreous China and Fire Clay since 1954. If you are planning a modern bathroom you have to see the incredible designs at ceramicaflaminia.it

9 Storage Solutions with Contemporary Styling

6:00 pm in Contemporary, Hanging, Home Storage & Shelving, Storage, Wall by John

The everyday battle of keeping “things put away” is something we all face in our daily lives. Storage solutions can play a big part in having the right environment to keep things picked up as well as a routine donating of furniture, clothing and other items that are no longer being used. Storage solutions often come after seeing the right vision of what may work in your particular space. These nine ideas feature contemporary styling which if that is your design style, places a great emphasis on keeping things neat. These combinations are all part of the “Domino Contenitore” collection which can be seen here.

Contemporary Wall Shelving from Move

5:00 am in Contemporary, Design, Home, Home Storage & Shelving, House, Italy, Organize, Shelving, Storage, Wall, decor by John

In this contemporary wall shelving from Move of Italy the supports become part of the design. The concept is rather simple, but when completed and installed on a wall it creates a nice triangle effect that creates a visual place of interest in a living room. Via.
