Seeing the Curl Bench by Stanislav Katz made me think about how creative we can be with colors in the home. I began thinking about the possibility of hot pink furniture and how that might look alongside my other possessions. By nature a new restaurant has to be hip and trendy to take us away from our favorite eateries and take our business to a new place. "Restaurant Et Cetera" is a new project created by designer Jan Schreiner. In the images provided by Jan, we can see an incredible use of colors that really create some "pop". The use of pinks blended with darker background colors create an environment that is light and intimate at the same time. A simple idea may be to have a few of these for children in a home to have a place to climb on, sit and work on projects. This morning I was looking for colorful furniture suggestions and came across the Chat Sofa and Chair by Soft Line. Chat falls somewhere between a chair and a sofa due to its size smaller than an average sofa. This example is a bit bolder with two colors making a strong statement. These 4 contemporary chandeliers come from Katz and were created by designer Stanislav Katz. Each example is different without a theme being central in the design of all four. The blimp made me think about the rock band Led Zeppelin and the artwork on their CD covers where the “zeppelin” is a common symbol. The colors of the second one made me think of “Neapolitan Ice Cream” though there are more than three colors in the product. These modern chandeliers are interesting, because when you first see them your own thoughts will develop about their inspiration, which are completely different than mine. Via.
