Hooks and More Hooks

A metal rod, steel base and 19 winding hooks are all that compose the Hook Up hanger stand. Its simplicity and size make it a great for a variety of spaces small and large, from the bathroom to the foyer. 19 is kind of an odd number to land on, but I can definitely think of that many uses!  Utilitarian design at its best.

Scenic Seating

This coat rack/bench combination, called “A Tree in the Meadow,” consists of 20×20 thick maple slats situated in 18mm thick birch plywood, creating a visually stunning matrix that resembles the striking vision of a lone tree in a hayfield. The design skews our perception of storage and formal structural stability- umbrellas, newspaper, slippers and other small items can be stored among the slats while coats and bags can be placed on the extended slats that form the coat rack.

This design by Daniela Cruz puts old bottles to use, repurposing them as “hooks” you can hang your jacket or coat on. The coat rack comes in separate pieces for easy transport and can be easily self-assembled by the user… all it’s missing is your favorite bottle of wine!

Gotta love this minimal coat-rack by the designers at Smartwoodhouse. Designed for easy assembly, storage, and transport, the S02 is composed of interlocking round wood pieces of different size that are connected by hidden hardware joints. Geometric shapes and lines complimented by the round, warm wood make this piece perfect for both minimal and classic atmospheres.

Silent Partner Shovel Hangs Your Clothes in Public

When associating words like "shovel" and "hanging" you'll immediately think of a familiar horror story, but I assure you this next shovel-based design is very friendly. Strange, but friendly! The coat hanger concept below is called the Silent Partner (original: Stiller Gefaehrte) and it definitely looks pretty interesting. It might not fit in your cozy home but it could definitely be an interesting coat rack for a modern office or hip bar. Unfortunately the Silent Partner is a very limited edition of coat hangers as just 100 pieces were made. Better hurry if you want one too! Via David Olschewski
