Maximilian Fischhaber, a design student at the University of Applied Sciences is the brain behind the simple yet sleek "2line chair". This minimalistically designed chair brings in an interesting juxtaposition of simplicity and complexity and also reverberates with vibrancy. The chair is made up of differently colored aluminum parts and one can customize the colors according to their interiors.

You are never too old for Mickey Mouse! No, I am not on the payroll of Walt Disney but simply love the adorable mouse to death. So imagine my excitement when I came across the Mickey Ribbon Stool, designed by nendo. The ribbon stool pays homage to world's most famous mouse (sorry Jerry) in its own inimitable way and is a result of the collaboration between Cappelini and the Walt signature adult lifestyle brand. This quirky stool is hard to resist since not only does it displays an acute sense of design but also keeps its eccentricity intact.

While the "Memory" Chair by renowned Japanese designer Tokujin Yoshioka may not be the most aesthetically designed chair, we still can't resist covering it. Debuting at the prestigious 2010 Milan Design Fair, the chair is already creating a buzz in the design continuum thanks to its material of choice. Made from recycled aluminum, this sustainable chair is able to alter its shape according to the weight or size of the user who has parked his/her derriere on it.
Says the designer:
"This chair might remind us of the beauty in nature with its ever-changing expressions, and also create the impression as if there is no presence of design."

Sweltering in the Sun? Missing the damp cold winter days? Well, then maybe the Ice Chair by Baíta Design is perfect for you. No, it won't cool down your body but thanks to the on board acrylic and stainless steel, it will definitely create an illusion. Brazilian designers Helena Bueno and Heinz Müller have managed to create quite a minimalistic wonder as the first think you notice about the Ice Chair is its sleek exterior and durable construction. I personally see the chair working more in a commercial set up like stores, offices or even airports but hey thats just me.

At the Milan Design Week 2010, Gilli Kuchik of Bakery will present a cutting-edge chair made from a proprietary technique called "Elastic Wood". As the name suggests "Elastic Wood" will focus on making wood a more flexible material. This is achieved by using wood and an elastic material together in the process of molding.

At this day and age, we all should adhere to the "Go Green" mantra. Interestingly the A&D field has been able to prove that recycled objects don't necessary translate into ugly. Product designers all over the world are showcasing their commitment to material reclamation by making some stunning sustainable furniture. Case in point, Emeco's 111 Coca Cola Pet Bottles Navy Chair which as the name suggests is made of 111 discarded bottles and according to Emeco they expect to use about 3,000,000 plastic beverage bottles each year in production! The chair is solely made of plastic PET bottles (about 65% post consumer content) and will be exhibiting at the Milan Furniture Fair.

I don't really know what to say about the "Bear Me" chair from Ontwerpers except it fits with the rest of their furniture designs as very unusual. The fiber reinforced artificial resin structure is handcrafted and "inspired by the outspoken deformed shape in nature, the way we processed the material resulted in a seemingly chaotic pattern of frost flowers". Made and delivered on special request. 145 x 90 x 62 cm See the rest of the totally unique furniture from Ontwerpers of the Netherlands here.
