Book Wrap

6:19 pm in 未分类 by Radhika-Seth

The Scroll Bookshelf is one of the most basic ways of managing your books in a tidy fashion. A metal sheet covered with a plastic sleeve and two sturdy end-rolls is what its all about. Unfurl the sheet and stack em books! And look! The ends have secret chambers to hold pens and other trinkets. Cute!

Reading Sanctuary

3:01 pm in Furniture by Troy Turner

The Nautilus shelving system, showcased at Northern Michigan University’s first ever exhibit at the Salone Satellite, was designed to be a cherished family heirloom that, like markings of a child’s height on the wall, represents the advancement of personal knowledge as well as the coming of age. Inspired by the need for growth through learning, the ascending shelves symbolize the lifelong pursuit of discovery. Placed in line, the shelves act as a playful room divider, but when closed Nautilus becomes an adapted reading sanctuary.

Infinite Configurations from Similar Proportions

3:01 pm in Furniture by Troy Turner

Our innate longing for uniqueness and individual identity is something deep rooted and naturally expressed in the things we choose to have around us. Designer Caterina Tiazzoldi’s Parametric Bookshelves are a response to this desire. The production process has been streamlined as such that user can input just 3 parameters (length, height, & color) and receive a custom tailored piece based on a single model. The result is formal complexity that is compatible with the standards of contemporary industry.

Do Be Discreet

4:02 pm in Furniture, Shelving by Troy Turner

I have always wanted to put my favorite books on display, hoping someone else would see and enjoy them, but I have struggled with finding a solution that doesn’t look too deliberate… until now. The Piastra is a wall mounted book shelf that brings home the functional simplicity of the magazine rack to create an all-around dynamic interior object that allows quick and intuitive access to reading.

The satin stainless steel and hidden LED lighting make for a super clean way to show off your favs.

The Colorful L’Arco Della Pace Bookshelf

11:55 pm in Home Storage & Shelving, Shelves, Shelving by Tanya

My mind instantly conjures up the song "Somewhere over the rainbow" when I look at the L'Arco Della Pace Bookshelf. This visually stunning bookshelf catches the eye and captures the heart thanks to the charming rainbow hues. Built by Martino Gampe, the L'Arco has its roots in history since the architectural elements are no coincidence and seeks to replicate the Arco della Pace which is part of the Piazza Sempione in Milan. Measuring 124" h x 87" w, the bookshelf is constructed of vibrantly colored veneered poplar plywood segments which makes it the anti-thesis of the usually traditional shelves.
