In their vernacular forms the country cabin and beach house are most often envisioned as rough and woody as well as shingled and white-washed, respectively.  Finding inspiration in Woodstock, NY and Fire Island, NY, Italian architect Andrea Salvini’s conceptualizations of the classics have been updated aesthetically and to the era of eco-efficiency.

The Crab House’s updated stilt design was inspired by- you guessed it, the legs of a crab.  The architectural verticality of this project is in response to an effort to preserve the existing garden area.

Inspired by the work of Andrew Gellar, the Hexagon beach house is striking and unique.

The Modern Cabin’s design was developed through minimizing and stylizing the lines and architectural elements of the classic American cabin.

If you're really passionate about water, diving and swimming then maybe a house on the beach is not what you should be looking for. This amazing beach house in Antigua and Barbuda has approximately 10,000 square feet of living space and thus could be classified as a mansion or a place that could house many families at the same time. It is located on the southeast coast of the island at the point of a peninsula which creates amazing views of Half Moon Bay. The acreage it sits on is elevated added to the panoramic views and also offering protection from storm surge. Each bedroom features a hexagonal shape as an extra touch in the house design. I would probably make the décor a bit more modern, but the furniture follows a more traditional approach often found in beach houses in the Carribbean.
