Design Guru Patricia Urquiola has channelled her creative energies for Agape to design the minimalistic Vieques Tub. This steel tub's stark form factor may not appeal to everyone however its no frills design along with its two tone finish is undeniably attractive. The Vieques Tub was designed in 2008 but the multi-faceted design is still relevant in today's contemporary design continuum. A modern take on the traditional bath tub, the Vieques features a white finish on the inside and dark grey finish on the outside which is complemented by a teak shelf and backrest.

The Tub-E by Wild Terrain Designs is an electronic bathtub that seems to mirrors the bathroom culture of the future or so we like to hope. A fantastic fusion of functionality, modern aesthetics and cutting-edge technology, this bathtub of the future is as smart as its sexy. All Glass Allos Bathtub By Glass Idromassaggio

11:57 pm in Bathroom Design & Furniture, Glass, Tubs by Tanya

Italian bath company, Glass Idromassaggio bring minimalism to the forefront with the Allos see-through bathtub. The slim silhouette and the almost bare design may be an odd choice in the luxury bathroom field, however here it seems to raise the design stakes. Devoid of any unnecessary trappings, the austere look adds a fierce accent to the bathtub and makes blends beautifully with its surroundings. Apart from the understated design, what really works in favor of the Allos Bathtub is it feature set. The bathtub is extremely serious about the concept of home wellness since it comes equipped with a soft head cushion and a soothing lighting system. The quick-fill feature along with the built-in television ensures that you soak away all your troubles and rejuvenate your body and soul from the comforts of your home.

6:29 am in Bathroom, Bathroom Design & Furniture, Led by Tanya

The concept of home spa and wellness is catching fast globally and this is evident in the current crop of bathroom and shower designs. The Orbis shower module by Hugh Thomas is a finalist of the Bathroom Innovation Awards 2010 and for good reason. Combining current aesthetical trends with cutting-edge technologies, the shower cubical evokes a sense of drama without losing its modern appeal. While no one can doubt its design competence, what makes the Orbis truly special is its Six multichip LEDs that controls the lighting, and the powerful 180° spray from overhead, side and underneath spray units. The Orbis may be used as a freestanding unit or be mounted against a wall.

There is no denying that when it comes to any good design, emphasis on structure is imperative. The Infinity Bath by Aleksander Mukomelov adheres to this principle beautifully and even evokes a sense of wonder given its technological aspect. Designed to replicate the ultimate spa experience at your own home, the bathtub comes equipped with a mini-computer mounted that is remote controllable and is able to adjust water temperature, the hydro-massage jets, feed rate, the music and much more. Another feature worth mentioning is the removable cartridge system that can help in aromatherapy or even select components like pine oils, sea salt and scents.

Optix Bathtub Series By Maax Collection

3:20 am in Bathroom Design & Furniture, Tubs by Tanya

Pink is not my color of choice when it comes to any aspect of home decor, however the Optix Bathtub Series somehow manages to carry this usual jarring shade with panache. Designed by Maax Collection, the Optik Post-Minimalist Bathtub is all about simplicity and understated elegance without falling in trap of the usual monochromatic route. The contemporary styling, the exuberant color palette and the sinuous lines makes the bathtub a formidable member of the bathroom culture. It will be wrong to assume that the bathtub is only about style since it features massage options, curvaceous armrests, a spacious flat deck surface and a cushioned head pillow.

Shelf Life Faucet Brings a Water Spring in Your Bathroom

11:37 pm in Bathroom Design & Furniture, Shelf by chris

We have covered plenty of faucet alternatives for your modern bathroom, some very high-tech and some very simple but we have more interesting designs to show you. The Shelf Life faucet in the images below has a unique form that makes it resemble an actual water spring emerging from a rock. The giant rock, in this case, is the bathroom, or better said a shelf of your bathroom, but the Shelf Life is definitely a faucet solution very pleasant to the eye. No wonder it won the Bathroom Innovation Award 2010 in the professional category! The Shelf Life project is just a concept for now but it could soon be available in a store near you.
