Furniture Fashion was contacted by students of NYU that are selling art as part of a group project. The class centers on entrepreneurship where a group of students decided to create contemporary design objects and sell them online. The website is called youMocoDesigns and it is definitely worth a look to support a good cause and frankly, the prices are very reasonable. I included some wall art samples in this article, but the entire collection can be seen at yourMocoDesigns.

This custom furniture compilation called “Assemblage #4″ was created by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec in 2004. There are several elements which create the overall visual appeal and make this work really “pop” when it is seen. The elements within include:
- orange lacquered metal lighting box
- big frame made of black tubes
- lamp with a shiny orange metal lacquered lampshade (mate inside)
- black mate top mate recovered with black leather and mate black tube
- white mate lacquered base and white make Corian
- black seaweed
Assemblage #4 is a limited edition of 8 pieces along with 2 artist proofs and 2 prototypes. It has been featured in an edition of Wallpaper magazine, Design Museum of London, Groninger Museum (Netherlands), Boijman’s Museum (Netherlands) and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. The “Divided Sideboard” was created by FRONT DESIGN with the concept of doing something different than a traditional furniture sideboard. From the Magic Collection, this piece defies gravity in the way that one drawer is not connected to the other three in any way. The stair-step approach of the remaining three drawers creates an optical image more like art than furniture. Dimensions: 14.9″ x 60.6″ x 32.6″. More information: here.
As an extra, here is another model that was created where all the drawers are connected together.

I have heard of the “home on wheels” but they are usually not bicycle wheels. Artist Kevin Cyr created that super sized Camper Bike tricycle / camper that is the perfect place to stop and rest when you are tired of pedaling. I am not sure if Cyr is needing any of the small space furniture we have here on Furniture Fashion but you never know. See more of the designs and art from Kevin Cyr including a few paintings that feature the Camper Bike here. Via Designboom

Will Holman is an architecture student working in a post graduate program at Rural Studio in Newbern, Alabama. Will provided some pop art home furnishings that are available from his Etsy store here. The first is the “Foreclosure Fruit Bowl” fittingly adapted from a real estate “For Sale” sign. The second piece is the “Nine Square Chair” that is shaped from an everyday site in my city, a road construction sign in orange. Prices: Fruit Bowl – $55; Chair – $300.

This amazing piece of art shows the iconic image of Mona Lisa originally painted by Leonardo da Vinci. This interpretation is actually sidewalk art put together by a group of artist assistants in Sydney, Australia. The image was created by using 3,604 coffee cups. Each cup was filled with different amounts of coffee and milk to create the proper pigment color that brings Mona Lisa to life.

This Buddha Print Set consists of four different color versions made of kimono silk. The silk features a jacquard pattern which allows the silk to show through on the prints. The prints are made with nontoxic dyes using techniques developed more than 500 years ago. Seen here in the image is the entire print set of four which when put together makes for a nice wall collage in the right decorative setting. The imagery is based on a sitting Buddha statue of Siddhartha Gautama. Price: $129. Buy product: HERE.
