Estelle Sauvage, a graduate of Ecole Nationale supérieure d'Art et de Design de Saint-Etienne (whew, thats a mouthful) has reimagined and reworked the good old kettle, and we love the final result. To get that piping hot cup of tea, Sauvage quite brilliantly equips the kettle with a lightbulb. The kettle can heat water at a temperature of 85 / 90° which is ideal for tea and the incandescent light bulb 100W along with the water, makes for a riveting design imagery.

Move over Niagra Falls you may finally have some competition from an unlikely source. Greek architects Danir Safiullin and Irina Prytkova have proposed the "Piraeus Waterfall" which would be placed on top of the Piraeus Tower to make a design statement. Aiming to be a dramatic and iconic, the "Piraeus Waterfall" will also drown down the noise pollution, something the port town has been struggling with for a while.

Lolita gets!
How adorable are these Lolita lamps? Aren’t they so prim and proper that you can envision tea and crumpets underneath them?

Designed by Moooi, the Lolita has an injection molded ABS shade and a polyurethane base. She is available in the colors seen above: black, grey, white and pink. Quaint dots line the rim of Lolita’s shade. Aside from the pendant lamp, Lolita also comes in floor and table lamps, all of which should be available from Unica Home early this month.
Where do you see the Lolita Lamps in your life?

Living in a houseboat is not for everyone but when you have modern houseboat while the one in the images below, you're going to realize there's only one thing to do. That's fall in love with water and embrace your new-found life aboard this modern houseboat. The outer design doesn't do justice to what you will find inside, and once you step through its doors you'll forget you left the main land. The dominant color is white and it definitely is a great choice for both the large bedroom found at the lower level, and for the kitchen and living room found on the upper level. The modern but simple furniture and overall design lines are definitely going to make you fall in love with this houseboat and I see no reason for making this one a permanent home. Via Design Blog
