Modern Stackable Stool

4:03 pm in Furniture, Seating, Stool by Troy Turner

I’m loving the Totem stool series by Sydney based design studio Anaesthetic! Each stool features a pyramid shaped indention that allows them to be stacked one on top of the other, creating a practical storage solution that also serves as a unique sculptural element. Lightweight, durable, and waterproof they are great for indoor or outdoor use and can be filled with sand or water for a more permanent seating solution or a stable surface for a table-top, footrest, or any other purpose imaginable.

Age-old Material Meets Modern Design

4:01 pm in Furniture, Seating, Stool by Troy Turner

After self-producing two pneumatic extruders to push soft clay through die, designer Max Cheprack put them to use, gently manipulating the material with great precision and complexity. This Clay Stool design is just one result of the process and represents not only a culturally historic material of the designer’s homeland, but also new possibilities in ceramic design and production.

Totally Rad Repurposing

4:01 pm in Furniture, Seating, Stool by Troy Turner

The skateboard is both the inspiration and the material that forms this awesome series of seating. Each deckstool or deckbench is made from real recycled broken skateboards, making each one unique with its own dings, scrapes, and artwork. Even old trucks are re-used as anchors between pieces. Each one tells a story! Get yours here!

What Color Would Your Tail Be?

3:01 pm in Furniture, Seating, Stool by Troy Turner

Did you know that at one point in your life you had a tail? That’s right – as an embryo you had a tail that was about one-sixth of your size, but as you grew it eventually disappeared. Personally, I wouldn’t mind having one now- as long as I could use it! But I guess I’ll have to settle for the next best ting- the Tail Stool is a whimsical seating design that balances on a small, flat surface, giving the illusion that the sitting person has a bright, dragon-like tail!

Rustic Minimalism?

3:01 pm in Furniture, Seating, Stool by Troy Turner

The Simple Rustic line of furniture proves that minimal design doesn’t have to be cold or sterile. Classic shapes, rounded edges, and unfinished pine give the bare-bones pieces a touch of country with a warm and inviting look that will compliment a variety of interiors from the wood cabin to the modern loft. Get ‘em here!

Avian Inspired Seating

3:01 pm in Furniture, Seating, Stool by Troy Turner

The Boet (Swedish for nest) stool by Note Design Studio is inspired by the elevated, protected and soft bird’s home in the trees. The metal frame comes in a variety of different colors and is perfectly contrasted with a soft, round cork seat fit snugly into the top metal bowl. Me want.

Pet Stool, No I’m Serious

11:39 pm in Living, Seating, Stool by Long Tran

Project “Pet Stool”, just a little something from Eyal Hirsh to bring a bit more joy and playfulness to our drab and stooless lives. The stool is made out of oak wood, solid yet a warm material. (HA!) The upholstered leg penetrates the seat  and just beckons to be played with. Inside that leg is a solid leg that keeps the stool stable. It’s humorous and I think quite comfortable to sit in. Not all furniture has to look like it came straight out of Dwell Design and no, that wasn’t a jab at Dwell. We love Dwell.

Simple and Timeless Furniture

3:01 pm in Furniture, Seating, Stool, Table by Troy Turner

When it comes to furniture, I love pieces that are organic in form but sharp enough to fit into the starkest of spaces. This line of furniture by escapefromsofa achieves this balance through style characterized by simplicity, and natural shapes in warm walnut and oak. The bookshelf, stool, side table and chair each have clear Scandinavian influence expressed through phenomenal craftsmanship.

Comfort VS Trend

3:01 pm in Furniture, Seating, Stool by Troy Turner

Simple curves & subtle movements are the philosophy behind this whimsical design by Dutch brand Lonc. The Seaser chair and Teaser stool were specifically designed to minimize effort & physical discomfort while avoiding trend, staying clear of style timelines but maintaining unchanging comfort quality. Upon sitting, the user will find that they are automatically put into an open & extroverted seating position as they are safely embraced by firm armrests. Lightweight & moveable, the design is also completely recyclable.
