White distilled vinegar is a great cleaning product for many reasons: it can be used for many cleaning jobs, it kills bacteria, its not as harsh as other chemicals, it’s eco-friendly and its cost efficient!
We came across this website that lists 1001 uses for cleaning with white distilled vinegar. Here are some of our favorite tips:
- Clean counter tops and make them smell sweet again with a cloth soaked in undiluted white distilled vinegar.
- Clean the microwave by mixing 1/2 cup white distilled vinegar and 1/2 cup water in a microwave-safe bowl. Bring it to a rolling boil inside the microwave. Baked-on food will be loosened, and odors will disappear. Wipe clean.
- To prevent good glassware from getting etched by minerals, wash then spray with full-strength white distilled vinegar. Give the glasses a hot water rinse before letting them dry or drying them with a towel.
- For stained and smelly plastic food containers, wipe them with a cloth dampened with white distilled vinegar.
- Easily clean your mini blinds by wearing pair of white cotton gloves. Dip gloved fingers into a solution of equal parts white vinegar and warm tap water, and run your fingers across both sides of each blind.
- Renew sponges and dishrags by placing them in just enough water to cover them. Then add 1/4 cup white distilled vinegar. Let them soak overnight.
- To clean a scummy showerhead, pour 1/2 cup baking soda and 1 cup white distilled vinegar into a sandwich bag and tie it around the showerhead. Let this set for an hour after the bubbling has stopped. Remove the bag and then turn on the water.
- Deodorize the toilet bowl by allowing 3 cups white distilled vinegar to sit in it for about a half hour before flushing.
- To make cleaning the grill easier, spray a solution of half water and half white distilled vinegar on the cooking surface.
Do you use white vinegar as a cleaning product in your home?

Tissue paper pom poms can be used in many different ways, for many different occasions. They can be used everyday within your decor, for special tablescapes or for fun parties. And the color combinations are endless!
Using the photos above as inspiration, you can use the pom poms on the table to to fill a decorative bowl, or as a colorful garland. You can hang them from the ceiling or use them as a centerpiece for a decorated table. Or, you can just hang them on the wall to add texture and color to a room.
Do you love this look as much as I do? How would you incorporate it – for a party or special occasion, or would you keep pom poms for every day use?

I’m looking for new and interesting ways to decorate walls without spending a fortune. The first DIY above involves scrapbook paper, which I can’t ever get enough of because of all the bright colors and fun patterns. Instead of mounting them all on one piece, I think I would frame individual pieces or do only a few of the squares. Either way, I would definitely frame it!
The second DIY is such an awesome, quirky idea – especially since it uses silhouettes, my new fave! I love this idea and hope I’m crafty enough to recreate it in my own home.
As for the third DIY, it was really the large canvas that captured my heart. Also because its a great, easy, stylish way to bring in color.
Do you have any wall art DIYs to share with us? We’d love to see them!

Do you get fancy and bring out the napkin rings?
Or do you let people use their sleeves? Just kidding.
But, really we’d like to know…when you entertain, how fancy do you get with your dinner table? Do you use cloth napkins or paper, good china or everyday china? If it depends on the occasion, what’s your determining factor??

Although the origination of silhouette artwork dates back to the 18th century, it is still abundant in modern forms. To prove this traditional form of art can be modernized (and because I just love silhouettes) I scoured Etsy for a round-up of my favorites.
What do you think about silhouettes?

It’s the little things in life that make a difference…
Like having this adorable little chickadee as your smoke detector, rather than those plain old smoke detectors that everyone else has.
Which would you choose – pink or white?
