What A Wave

3:05 pm in Bathroom, Sink by Radhika-Seth

The Eaux Eaux sink is quite a take on the oceanic wave! Its simple form, in one fluid motion, integrates the spout into the basin. It’s like the flow and ebbing of the waves in a synchronized dance. The base is secured into a recessed counter top while the stainless steel body is glam-ed up with a blush of paint. The overall effect is perfect!

Eaux Eaux is a Bathroom Innovations Award entry.

Hair Trapping

11:36 pm in Bathroom, Design, Kitchen, Sink by Radhika-Seth

My mother has this really annoying habit of washing her hair in the kitchen sink. She says it’s a quick-fix when you’re running out of time… I call it being lazy. The downside is that hair usually clogs up the sink and cleaning the sink stopper is plain yuk! I guess it’s for this reason that I love the Crown Pop-up sink stopper idea; the exposed top end stays clean while the root-ish tail end catches the hair and goop. I so need this!

Linear Flow of Dishwashing

4:01 pm in Kitchen, Sink by Radhika-Seth

The S-Lav Kitchen Sink is 4-step dishwashing process that saves you time and dishwater hands. The first step is the scrap bin for leftover food. The second step is for soaking and step three is for soaping and rinsing. Finally step five is a dish rack for drying. This linear workflow pretty much mimics how everyone washes dishes but the production-line setup makes things move smoother and faster.

If Bang & Olufsen Made a Sink Faucet

4:39 pm in Bathroom, Concept, Kitchen, Sink by Radhika-Seth

Designer Jessica Hunt answers with a rather interesting concept. Her take is a sleek brushed steel tube with a long notch along one side for water to flow. No knobs or taps; a simple swipe across the arm turns it on. It offers various levels of hot and cold water through lateral touch points and comes with a handy spray. It even includes a pyramid base, which doubles as a soap dispenser. How very B&O – stark and highly functional.

Disclaimer: This is a concept project and has nothing to do with Bang & Olufsen

Like a Penguin

4:10 pm in Bathroom, Sink by Long Tran

The Penguin faucet series is designed to conserve water and encourage eco-responsible living. The Penguin faucet, which bears a distinct resemblance to the body of a penguin, is low flow and dispenses water at a rate of 1.5 GPM. Not only does this tug at my heart strings for all things penguin inspired, it also happens to look pretty good although I feel like something in the series should have resembled a penguin egg.

Sink in Space

4:03 pm in Bathroom, Sink by Chris-Burns

Let me take you on a fancy journey into the deep thought involved in a sculptural sink design. This is a world where a spaceship floats over a sea of porcelain, bringing you only what the title of the project implies: “The Dream of Water.” Of course this sink is fully functional, and using it will be like a dream to you. Come with me into the poetry that is water delivery, brought to you by no less that designer Jerome Olivet.

Here at Yanko Design we definitely do encourage creative sink making, especially when the design is heavily sculptural and/or innovative in its delivery. The delivery of this sink is certainly unique. Take a peek at this poetry included in the product description (from Olivet) and view the magical video presentation below.

Molded in white ceramic, the bathtub reveals its magic.
Several walls of light surround our area of well-being.

We are therefore transported to an aquatic and wonderful world.
This is an invitation to travel in a shining spaceship that spins slowly in the wind.
Carved out of a shiny metal, the aerodynamic faucet soars above the water.
Lying beneath, all these curves strangely caress us. Peace descends calmly.

And it’s being bathed in this warm and fragrant water that allows happiness to gently invade us.

Aquabox Bath System Recycles All That Bathroom Water

12:56 am in Bathroom, Bathroom Design & Furniture, Concept, Design, Eco Friendly, Modern Design, Recycling, Sink by chris

A few days ago we've seen an interesting bathroom shower concept meant to help us recycle unused water and today we have a similar eco-friendly bathroom design that's supposed to recycle all that bathroom water you use in your bathroom. The Aquabox bath system is actually a complex bath unit that will help you recycle and purify the water you use during your showers or while you wash your hands. The "wasted" water gets purified and then stored into an 80-liter tank and you can further use the same water to flush your toilet and even water your flowers. The design is definitely interesting and some sort of Aquabox bath system could be included in more and more bathrooms in the near future. Any early adopters ready to try the Aquabox? Giant Cup Bathroom Basin Will Never Hold Any Coffee

9:04 am in Bathroom, Bathroom Design & Furniture, Furniture, Kitchen, Modern Design, Sink by chris

Out-of-the-box bathroom basin you ask? Well how about the Cup in the images below? The Cup washbasin has an interesting shape that immediately reminds you of your coffee cup. But this Cup will never hold any coffee. Instead it will act as a very useful sink with the Cup handle acting as a towel holder. The Cup comes either in white or in black and it would fit perfectly with the rest of your modern bathroom. But make sure you find other similar bathroom elements shaped like kitchenware. After all, the Cup basin certainly imposes a kitchen theme for your bathroom, and it deserves some appropriate company! Via Artceram
