Beach Front Villa in British Virgin Islands

6:00 pm in Architecture, Homes, Houses, Real Estate, Villa, Villas, Virgin Islands by John

This beach front villa in the British Virgin Islands is a welcome site during the colder months. Known for its pristine blue water, the islands remain a hotspot for tourists and those well to do enough to own property on the islands. This villa is on Beef Island on a 1.89 acre plot. The house is located west of the airport on the north side of the island with views of Little and Great Camanoe Islands. The house has 5 bedrooms and 3 ½ bathrooms. The pictures show the wonderful view and location of the property. One drawback is that old sectional sofa that certainly needs replacing. Be sure and take a look at another Virgin Islands dream home that was covered earlier at Furniture Fashion. Via.

Mykonos Greek Islands Mansion Pictures

6:00 pm in Architecture, Homes, Houses, Mansion, Pictures, Real Estate, Vacation by John

This property is fittingly named “Nirvana”. Located in the Greek Islands on Mykonos, this mansion measures 3,767 square feet. What is even more impressive, are the fabulous grounds that the property is located on. It is a fairly secluded area on a hillside offering wonderful views of the sea. The grounds are large and contain a pool (must have in Mykonos) and a guest cottage that is set among a secluded grove of olive trees. Priced at €4,300,000 it is far out of my price range, but I am hopeful that the guest cottage can be purchased separately. Via.

Green Malibu Home by Kanner Architects

5:00 pm in Architecture, Green, Homes, Houses, Real Estate, Solar Panels by John

Known as the Malibu 5 project from Kanner Architects, this stunning Malibu home embodies many of today’s accepted design practices. Construction materials consist of environmentally friendly and recycled materials. The house is vertically stacked in a hillside in Malibu, California with an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean. The home minimizes energy use through large solar protected windows which limit the need for artificial lighting. The roof harbors photovoltaic solar panels to harvest the sun’s energy. Ground level concrete floors act as heat sinks pulling energy in during the day and then releasing it at night. Motion sensors ensure that lights are not on while a room is not in use. The results are amazing in that the home is contributing power back to the local grid. This Malibu home has 3,300 square feet, 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Via.
