As you have probably noticed, there's something about modular designs that attracts my interest. No matter what room of the house we'd be talking about, modular furniture can be a lifesaver especially for small apartments. The Tete-e-Tete Nest is such a design, but it's rather suited for public spaces than personal homes. The modular design will offer you absolute privacy when privacy is needed. The designer envisioned electro-chromic windows that change from transparent to opaque thus ensuring the absolute privacy I was talking about. But the Tete-e-Tete Nest can quickly be dismantled and turned into an open space area once the need for privacy is gone. The question is, where would you actually place such designs? Via Formboten

The Red Nest is an interesting design that makes the most of small apartments. It's a modular design that offers plenty of storage space, a sleeping area and a working area, but we'll notice there's no kitchen area. The red coat of paint combined with a couple of strategically placed mirrors make the whole room seem a lot bigger than it actually is. The bookshelf is a mobile unit meant to hide the bed or the working area, according to your needs. The bathroom is also worth noticing since, as you can imagine, it doesn't offer that much space either. The Red Nest is definitely a great design for small spaces, and in case you're thinking about renting such an apartment then you know how you can decorate it to make the most of the available space. This isn't the first modular couch/sofa we've seen here on Furniture Fashion and it won't be the last either. The Sofa Alternativo is made of various different elements that can be arranged as you see fit. Unleash your creativity and make the most of the space available in your living room with this outstanding design. Not only is the Sofa Alternativo easy to arrange but it's also easy to store and thanks to those built-in magnets in each element you won't have any problem stacking those different pieces both vertically or horizontally. The Sofa Alternativo is definitely a setup to consider if you're not attracted by regular sofa designs, but most importantly if your living room isn't the most spacious one in the world. Modular furniture is more and more popular, at least with some crowds as it can bring your apartment or house to life in new ways day in and day out. We've seen plenty of interesting modular designs here so far and today we're showing you one more, the Grado, which I encourage you to consider for your crowded living room. The modular design of Grado is perfect for tinier rooms but, as you can see in the pictures above, it is not limited to small spaces only. You can always add more elements to your Grado, and move them around to fit your seating needs. The Grado can be transformed into a comfortable couch, instant bed and anything else you can think of. How do you feel about modular furniture? Via Nintek

The Duplex Modular workstation is one those unique designs that grabs the eyeballs instantly. Not just content to be a functional , the unit also makes quite a visual statement and reverberates with individuality. Conceptualized by Sophie Kirkpatrik, the Duplex has been designed to forge an interactive bond with its user as the flexible hood creates an adaptable work space. Want to shut off the world while working on your masterpiece just pull the hood forward. Feel like taking in the environment, then just remove the hood!

Seldom does modular storage system evoke a sense of design exhilaration but the "Capillair" is definitely an exception. Made from something as innocuous as rubber and felt, the adaptable storage system certainly doesn't shy from making a style statement. The sense of drama it exudes along with the flexibility it offers makes this a complete winner in our books. Kudos to designer Carolijn Slottje for crafting this beautiful unit and making use of the cell-like components so innovatively.
