What do you think of these chairs in glass?
The concept is interesting, but I’m not sure how useful they would. If it were raining it might be nice, but you would still have to dash outside to get in the glass cube. It does look pretty chic and modern, especially if the chairs were a bit more contemporary, but the functionality is holding me back a little.

The Eye Stick reinvents the traditional cane! It removes the inconveniences caused by a traditional cane for the blind and replaces it with scientifically enhanced saber-like device. Its designed not to be very long and uses rays and ultrasonic sensors to determine distance measurement, and thus help the sight impaired to navigate their surroundings safely.
“Eye Stick reinvents the traditional cane. It uses ultrasonic waves to reliably measure distance, unaffected by rain, fog, or other climate problems. Projected light is used to prevent collisions with other pedestrians. The ultrasonic system delivers information about hazards such as barriers and changes in floor level, detecting them in advance. Eye Stick also offers another function. It can obtain information about products, for example, by automatically scanning barcodes through a camera. The information is sent through a Bluetooth connection and converted to voice.”
The Eye Stick is a 2012 red dot award: design concept winner.

Designed by Seppo Koho for Secto Design, the Octo 4240 is a modern, eco-friendly pendant lamp.
The Octo pendants are made from PEFC-certified Finnish birch, cut into slats that are connected by rings of plywood.
Each Octo pendant is 68 cm high, with a diameter of 54 cm. Octo is available in natural birch, black laminate or white laminate. The black has a matching black cord and both the white and birch have a white cord.
To continue with the eco-friendly aspect of the Octo, energy-saving light bulbs are recommended.

We've seen plenty of furniture pieces with dual use so far and we're certainly not going to stop showing you more. Today we have something else, a speaker set that caught our attention. The Rebaroque Speakers also act as paintings ready to redecorate the naked walls of your new home. The Rebaroque Speakers look like modern paintings, or works of art, since we're looking at more than paint usage here, and they come in regular paintings sizes with frames and everything else that makes them look like, well, paintings. Once mounted on the wall the Rebaroque Speakers will probably deliver the desired sound experience while also pleasing the eye in the process. This particular piece furniture doesn't really qualify as the usual outdoor furniture you'd be usually interested in purchasing, as it's rather a home appliance that you'd store outside. This bold design can be an eco-friendly fridge solution for the future. The Electrolux external refrigerator is placed outside and accessible via a window. The refrigerator will use the temperature outside to conserve food in the colder months of the year while in summer the sun's energy will be used to keep your favorite foods at cool temperature. Designed by Italian designer Davide Conti, the Magica and Magica 2 Chair appear to be magically standing on one leg. The Magica, the black chair, is designed to appear that it receives support from the back of the chair that extends down while the Magica 2, the white chair, zig-zags to theoretically gain support from the front of the chair. However, there are two transparent plexiglass pieces on each side of the chairs that sturdily support the body and make it usable.
Although the Magica Chairs are still in the conceptual phase, they would be a great way to fool friends at home or guests and passersby in restaurants and hotels.

Designed by Spanish architect group A-cero, the Concrete House II is located just outside of Madrid. The outside walls are made of dark gray concrete and built with strips of grass between them to create the illusion that the house is actually part of land. With an indoor spa and swimming pool, home theater, wine room and parking garage, the Concrete House II is a luxurious retreat. Even some of the modern decor and furniture appears to be made from concrete!
A-cero’s blog tells us that the Concrete House II is a single story home that measures at 1600 square meters, which is about 17,222 square feet. Imagine living in a space that big. It would be great for a good ol’ game of hide-and-seek…

Unlike the good ol’ schooldays, you won’t get in trouble for having these Paper Planes. Designed by Nipa Doshi and Jonathon Levien of Doshi Levian for Moroso, Paper Planes are paper-like seating arrangements made from a sturdy steel frame. The fun and colorful striped covers are removable for easy washing.
With a low armchair and a high armchair, there are plenty of options for the Paper Planes. As paper planes made from paper can be folded into different uses, each of these Paper Planes can be situated differently to offer several seating options.
