Model-Skinny Lighting

3:01 pm in Lamp, Light, Lighting by Troy Turner

Composed of 3mm thick aluminum sheets and a super slim OLED light, the highlight of the Lanx lamp is its extreme thinness. Its bare, minimal aesthetic is contrasted with a warm wood veneer, making it a perfect desktop lamp for modern and traditional spaces alike.

A Holy Lamp for Lovers of Illusion

4:00 pm in Furniture, Lamp, Light, Lighting, Living, Odd, Strange by Chris-Burns

Created with just an LED strip, a ring diffuser, a power source and a mirror on a bit of back support, this is Aureole, a unique lighting solution. You’ll find that what you’ve got here is a halo of light, made whole by the mirror that sits behind a crescent of LEDs. Hang a series of these on your wall and have a lineup of holy rollers in the making.

Ever want to wake up each morning and feel like an angel? Yuxin Han has the solution for you. Of course the Aureole isn’t made specifically for you lovers of the circlet of godly presence, but it does have a rather pointed nickname: “Jesus Lamp.”

And what’s more, this design isn’t just looking great when its all constructed – the components come in such flat pieces that you’d potentially be able to mail this whole project in a flat manilla envelope! That said, you probably wont want to because glass is breakable: USPS won’t like that!

Upcycled Vintage Automotive turned Furniture

4:00 pm in Furniture, Lamp, Lighting, Lights, Living by Chris-Burns

There’s nothing quite like a good Steampunk project to get your engine revving – unless of course you’ve got a bunch of car and motorcycle parts lying around and can go the extra mile. Upcycling is one of the most awesome ways to express your love for using things twice, and with fantastically lovely looking vehicle parts like this, furniture pieces never looked so hardcore! Classified Moto brings you their own unique take on the current state of industrial auto furniture and accessories here.

This collection of pieces comes from Classified Moto’s extended collection of real usable and for-sale works meant to impress both you and any car-loving guests you might have pop over for a drink. Transmission gears, Japanese motorcycle bits, and more springs than the junkyard knew what to do with – that’s what you’ll be getting here. Have a peek at a few of the group’s newest amalgamations!

Redesigned Nomad Lamp

10:29 pm in Lamp, Light, Lighting by Troy Turner

Designed to meet the needs of families without access to electricity in developing countries, the Nomad is an all-around great multi-use lamp that is both durable and super-efficient. Simply leav it in the sun and go on about your day… by nighttime you’ll have light at the brightest setting for up to 6 hours!

For added user-friendliness, the Nomad also features a single button that controls on/off functionality as well as brightness/intensity?

Modern Lantern

3:01 pm in Lamp, Light, Lighting by Troy Turner

Lampe H is a super-modern lighting solution that gives a slight nod to the old-school lantern. Similar to a kerosene lantern, the user turns a simple knob to activate on/off functionality and can transport the lightweight lamp anywhere with its thin handle. Probably not the best for camping, but it will look great inside!

Only Manta

9:59 pm in Lamp, Lighting by Radhika-Seth

A proud moment for James Cameron and his path breaking dive into the Marina Trench! While we still come to grips with the implication of his journey, it’s quite apparent than our fascination nature and the elements have a deep-rooted effect on inspiration. Take for example the Manta Pendant Lamp; clearly inspired by the beautiful fish, this gorgeous lamp is not only a design exercise but also a statement of our passion for exploration.

Intuitive Illumination

4:10 pm in Lamp, Light, Lighting by Troy Turner

Gotta love this straightforward desk lamp design! One look at the Slide Lamp and the user will instantly understand how to adjust it. The aluminum base and natural oak components form a triangle with slots that make it easy to slide elements and adjust the lamp’s height and position.

Modern Meets Vintage

3:01 pm in Lamp, Light, Lighting by Troy Turner

A part of the “Successful Living” collection by the Diesel Creative Team, the floor and pendant Cage lamps reflect both modern pop culture and vintage style influences. Smooth, bright colored shades contrast with dark, heavy-duty wire, making it an aesthetically sensible choice for both contemporary settings and industrial spaces alike.

Secret Sculptural Lighting

3:01 pm in Lamp, Light, Lighting by Troy Turner

Free of joints, the Pureness lamp looks like sculptural decor at first glance, but turn it on and it’s near-invisible, flexible LEDs will provide an unexpected glow to light up any room. A clean, elegant design perfect for the modern office or minimal studio.

Lighting Lab

3:01 pm in Lamp, Light, Lighting by Troy Turner

I love the obvious inspiration behind this one-of-a-kind lamp design by Michael Samoriz. The Microscope LED Lamp aims to inspire designers, artists and other creatives to view their desk not merely as a desk, but as a laboratory where they can experiment with imagination.
