The Kit – Cub Kitchen Is Cubical Yet Very Practical

9:59 pm in Design, Furniture, Kitchen, Kitchen Design & Furniture by chris

This Kit - Cub Kitchen furniture design is something that would make even Picasso very proud. But we'll be moving past Cubism to focus on this cubical and very practical kitchen. The Kit - Cub is very compact but it comes with everything you'd need from your kitchen: electrical cooking top, microwave, sink, cutting table, fridge and plenty of storage cabinets. If you have to deal with a tiny apartment then I bet your small kitchen could use such a cubical kitchen furniture design. In fact the whole design is based on two cubes, which means you'll be able to split the large unit you see in two different parts that can be placed in different areas of the kitchen. So, would you go for the Kit - Cub kitchen? Via Yanko Design

Electrolux External Refrigerator Shows Us a Glimpse of the Future

12:55 am in Design, Kitchen, Kitchen Design & Furniture, Modern, Outdoor, Patio & Outdoor Furniture by chris

This particular piece furniture doesn't really qualify as the usual outdoor furniture you'd be usually interested in purchasing, as it's rather a home appliance that you'd store outside. This bold design can be an eco-friendly fridge solution for the future. The Electrolux external refrigerator is placed outside and accessible via a window. The refrigerator will use the temperature outside to conserve food in the colder months of the year while in summer the sun's energy will be used to keep your favorite foods at cool temperature. Electrolux will certainly consider making such a fridge in the future especially since the product is part of the Electrolux Design Lab 2010 competition. Via Nicolashubert

The Refrigerator 2 Fridge TV Knows Exactly What You Like

This thing in the pictures below happens to be one of the most interesting fridges your kitchen could ever wish for. Not only does the Refrigerator 2 conveniently hide your favorite food but it also has a built-in TV that will let you enjoy your special shows while enjoying exactly the meal you like. Maybe it's the news in the morning over a bowl of cereal or maybe it's your favorite afternoon talk show over a tasty snack; you get to choose both the food and the program you want to watch. Oh and the built-in TV is a pretty decent 14-inch set ready to answer all your commands. So what do you say, would you be ready to exchange your old refrigerator for a brand new one, say the Refrigerator 2? Via R&R

The Sun Lamp Faucet Acts Like a LED Sun for Your Kitchen Sink

10:29 pm in Kitchen, Kitchen Design & Furniture, Kitchen Designs, Lamp, Lamps & Lighting, Lights by chris

It's not every day that we get to see a faucet that also acts as a light source. I know what you're thinking; electricity plus water can't be good, right? Well in this case, the Sun Lamp Faucet is a lot safer than it sounds. The faucet system incorporates 30 LED lights, which are ready to bring some light to your sink while you're washing the dishes. The light only comes on when required as there's a special switch for it, so don't worry about your electricity bill either. And considering the Sun Lamp Faucet comes with LED lighting, you're actually going to save some energy! The Sun Lamp Faucet is perfect for those kitchen spaces that could use another light source, not to mention that its overall design is more than pleasing to the eye and would fit with most modern kitchens out there. La Cucina Alessi Kitchen by Alessandro Mendini and Gabriele Centazzo

4:36 am in Kitchen, Kitchen Design & Furniture, Kitchen Islands, Modern Kitchens by Tanya

Go on gastronomical adventures and seek inspiration from your kitchen island itself. La Cucina Alessi by Alessandro Mendini and Gabriele Centazzo embraces it curves and is a great relief from the usually emaciated linear kitchen islands. Eschewing traditional dimensions, the sculpturesque presence of La Cucina Alessi may just push its user to start a passionate love affair with food and even master the art of cooking.

Says the designers:

"The poetry and aesthetics of the curved line... an enveloping, sinuous, wavy and dynamic meaning. A feeling of total protection: physical, because by rounding off edges, accidents are avoided; and psychological, letting you use this culinary tool in a relaxed and happy way for perfect cooking results."

Cook ‘n’ Roll Kitchen Table All-in-One: Cooktop, Dishwasher, Sink, Oven, Storage and Sanitizer

9:24 pm in Kitchen, Kitchen Accessories, Kitchen Appliances, Kitchen Design & Furniture, Modern Furniture & Design, Sink, Storage by chris

Until now I have shown you various ways of saving precious space when it comes to kids' playing areas, bathrooms or home offices. It's now time to look at your kitchen, especially if it's a very small one. The Cook 'n' Roll is a concept that adds plenty of utility to your crowded kitchen while looking cool in the process. Acting as an all-in-one kitchen furniture piece, the Cook 'n' Roll offers you plenty of uses: cooktop, dishwasher, sink, oven, storage and sanitizer. The whole design is very daring and it proposes some ingenious solutions: an inductive cooking surface, sensory cleaning sticks (waterless dish-washing) and a sink, an infrared oven and a storage area. The Cook 'n' Roll is still just a concept for modern kitchens but we'll definitely look forward for this one to hit stores. Via Yanko Design

Kitchen Table Concept Comes With Built-in Plates

8:22 am in Dining Room Furniture, Kitchen, Kitchen Design & Furniture, Kitchen Furniture, Table by chris

The round table in the images below impressed me not only with the overall design but also with its out-of-the-box simplicity. In case you're always ready to invite your friends and family to one of your already famous meals then this table concept should come to your aid. The table's surface is actually made out of built-in (but removable) ceramic plates ready to dazzle your guests while they're in the process of experiencing your next culinary creation. Your kitchen would therefore be blessed with such a dinner table, but make sure you don't drop any of those plates when it's time to wash them. And from the looks of these pictures below, at least one functional table has been built already so we'll be waiting for it to arrive in furniture stores at some point in the future. Via Daportfolio

Liquid Engineering for the Modern kitchen

4:03 am in Home Accessories, Interior Design, Kitchen Accessories, Kitchen Design & Furniture by Will

The modern kitchen is full of technology these days, therefore its quite nice to find some kitchen appliances that even though they based in scientific instruments, no technology is required just a keen eye for something that looks nice while doing the job that is asked of it.

First of all there is the plant pot, this is ideal for someone who is going away, just fill the bottle up with water and the plant will still be alive upon your return its simple and yet so very effective.

The wine pourer is a brilliant piece of design that turns pouring a glass of wine into a piece of performance theater. This is the perfect center piece for a dinner party, although clearly this is limited to just four glasses at a time.

There is something about glass that creates a feeling of style and class in a room and in particular, the kitchen because it is clean and bright, but it has to be kept cleaned all of the time, otherwise it will end up looking dull and dated.

"Small Type" Kitchen Concept For Small Apartments

4:10 am in Kitchen Design & Furniture, Kitchen Designs by Tanya

Those who don't have the luxury to live in bungalows and living a cramped existence in apartments will love the "Small Type" Kitchen Concept by Kristin Laass and Norman Ebelt from Germany. Measuring only one square meter when shut, the kitchen is able to house a table, a refrigerator, an oven, a sink and even a shelving system.
