P’kolino Klick Children Desk Is Available In Bright Colors

12:41 am in Desks, Kids & Nursery Furniture by Tanya

Getting a child to study is a Herculean task (so I've heard) but maybe with the right source of inspiration it is achievable. The niftily designed P'kolino Klick Children Desk with its funky form factor may just make learning fun and inspire a child to park itself on it rather than in front of the "Idiot Box". The desk measures 17" L x 17" W x 20" H and the padded seat measures 12" H. Ideal for children from ages 3 to 7, the desk also has ample space for storing papers, books and puzzles. More importantly the desk is easy to clean and is pretty low-maintenance. One can order the P'kolino Klick Children Desk for $199 in colors like red, green and orange from Bed, Bath & Beyond.

When darkness falls there's nothing really more appropriate to do than turn on your Ghost Lamp. And these ghosts will protect you rather than haunt you like regular ghosts do! In fact although it might seem like a lamp especially designed for your kids' room, the Ghost Lamp can definitely be placed in all sorts of other locations. Not to mention that, with Halloween coming soon, these Ghost Lamps would surely fit well with all the other decorations. Each Ghost Lamp costs $69.99 and there are four colors to choose from: red, yellow, white and blue. Are you ready to pick your Ghost Lamp? Via Think Geek

Making a mess is second nature to children and getting them to clean that mess is akin to Chinese water torture for the parents. The Cube Locker Hutch, Bin Base & 3-Cube Bench from Land Of Nod may just help harried parents in their quest to instill some tidying skills in their kids thanks to its nifty storage options. You can choose between the 5-Cube Bookcase (perfect for narrow vertical spaces), the 6-Cube Bookcase (the right height for little ones), the 8-Cube Bookcase (large enough to store books and toys) or the 3-Cube Bench.

Land Carpet Looks Like Earth Seen From Up Above

8:34 am in Design, Kids, Kids & Nursery Furniture, Modern Furniture, Modern Furniture & Design by chris

The pictures below aren't taken from an aircraft while flying to our next destination. Although it looks like we're seeing various crop fields on the surface of our beloved planet, what we're looking at really is the Land Carpet. This carpet was inspired exactly by those large fields we see from up above, but this time around we're not looking down at Earth to spot cereal fields. Instead we have an 1800 x 1200 mm Land Carpet made of 100% New Zealand wool and weighing just over 22 pounds. So now that we know this Land Carpet exists we can only wonder where would one place such an interesting design? In the kids room maybe? But it will take a while until they see the resemblance, so where else would you display this Land Carpet so your guests can really admire it? Via Florian Pucher

My Space Opens a Playground Made of Cardboard in Your House

10:21 pm in Design, Kids, Kids & Nursery Furniture by chris

The My Space cardboard folding play area in the images below doesn't have anything to do with the popular social networking site "My Space." Instead this design is made specifically for children and their busy parents. My Space can be folded into a bunch of interesting decors that can inspire you kid's imagination and it can be a perfect solution for a crowded apartment. Add some color to the cardboard and your children will have a playground set-up right inside your house which will be open at any time of day ready to put a big smile on their faces. My Space isn't meant to replace actual outdoor playgrounds, but can be an alternative for rainy days. Designed by Liya Mairson, the pop-up folding My Space playground isn't available in stores but, with enough patience and plenty of materials you could build this yourself. Via DesignBoom
