Inspired by similar creative methodologies, designer Duncan McKean’s Iterations cards are geared specifically towards product designers. Each card has an input as well as a set of ambiguous instructions that will get your creative juices flowing. Experiencing “designer’s block?” simply start with your concept sketch, draw a card, and add to your concept based around your interpretation of what the card says.

35 Bathroom Renovation Ideas

I am always looking for bathroom renovation ideas since every space seems to be a different size, has different obstacles in its construction path and needs to meet the expectations of the home owner for every day function and luxury. The best way to get started is to look at as many pictures as possible to determine likes and dislikes along with a good understand of daily needs and what sorts of luxuries you enjoy. These pictures come from Spec-Net and feature a variety of full bathroom views to close ups of toilets, tubs and vanities. An Example of Cool One Story House Plans

My first comment is that I wish I had more pictures of this project. These one story house plans feature a place to be built in Ojai, California. Ojai is a town of 8,600 people according to the 2003 census that is 33 miles from Santa Barbara and 83 miles from Los Angeles. The design features a sprawling one story approach which offers great views throughout the house. The backyard has a cool patio that highlights a shade tree in its center. Via.

Hot Pink Furniture for the Home?

Seeing the Curl Bench by Stanislav Katz made me think about how creative we can be with colors in the home. I began thinking about the possibility of hot pink furniture and how that might look alongside my other possessions. The truth is that Curl Bench may be more appropriate in a public seating setting due to its shape, but maybe there is a place for hot pink in the creative decorator's arsenal. Modern Sideboard with Great Storage from Etel

The modern sideboard pictured here is the "Vila Rica" from Etel Interiors. The thing that strikes me on this piece is how well the storage is laid out. The compartment on the top to store silverware, serving utensils and sterling silver is very accessible. I can imagine hosting a dinner party and needed something. With this piece, my needs would be met very quickly. Another interesting feature is that the design is transitional making this modern sideboard a fit in many other homes which may have a more eclectic mix of furniture. More information: here.

This morning I was looking for colorful furniture suggestions and came across the Chat Sofa and Chair by Soft Line. Chat falls somewhere between a chair and a sofa due to its size smaller than an average sofa. This example is a bit bolder with two colors making a strong statement. Though their pictures might show a sparsely used space, in real life the closet would likely be full of clothes. A nice feature in their systems is how they use doors that blend in well in a room even while the closet may extend the whole distance of a wall.
