Gotta love this utilitarian design by Swedish design studio, Lagström Wiktorsson. The Leaf hanger set consists of five steel rings of different size that anchor to wall on one side, making it suitable for a variety of uses depending on which way the user anchors it. Position it upside down as a towel ring, or right-side-up as a coat hanger. Each piece in the set is laser cut from a single steel sheet, minimizing material waste. In powder-coated charcoal gray and white they’re as attractive as they are useful.

I once saw an episode of Upright Citizens Brigade, a comedy show of note, where a woman had an interview with an architecture firm that had created a building in the woods – but there was no building. Instead the woods WERE the building, an absurd look at integrating design into natural surroundings. Here’s a set of objects by Robert Bronwasser for Cascano that’s pulled back the lever a bit to deliver nature-inspired objects (for the most part) that’re just the right mix.
Devour if you will the entire collection. We’ve got four examples below of stand-up designs that have branches and pegs galore. Notice the excellence herein. Notice also, if you will, the intended purpose of each of the items as evidenced by the professional photographs that depict them. Notice ALSO if you will, the fabulous sources of inspiration contained in the photos as well. Excellence.

The Abitudini Coat Hanger Series once again shows industrial designers new found unstinting love for creating eco-chic objects. Designer Antonello Fuse marry his love for recycling with functional design by utilizing discarded broken chairs. How you may ask? Well, Fuse simply attaches metal hooks to the chair backs and voila you get your own fully functioning coat hanger!

It’s great how design finds way to incorporate everyday objects into useful products for the home. Take this bolt for example. This is from the line of coat hangers by Insilvis. I would have not thought about using a bolt in this way, but it presents and interesting design perspective. Via.
