Xbox Evolution

4:01 pm in Gaming by Troy Turner

The 100% digital Xbox Prestige uses the foundations of the previous 360 Kinect to form this completely controller-less gaming console that’s even smaller than the Xbox Slim. A combination of motion sensor technology, including not one but two cameras built into the console, and integrated voice recognition make it a super responsive and hands-free gaming powerhouse.

The KinectIN feature allows the user to purchase a game and simply scan the chip to the console. Once scanned to the user’s profile, play can begin in Microsoft Xbox Cloud or from the internal 2TB hard drive.

The console has an 8-core processor for super-speed performance up to 20 times faster than previous Xbox models. It supports 3D, 4K2K, multiTV (DPConnect), live TV and webcam, as well as GPS that allows users to view the location of any other user on an active map.

Virtual Connection

3:01 pm in Gaming by Troy Turner

For centuries the rope has been a symbol of community, friendship, and interpersonal communication. Inspired by the icon, the designers of Rope Revolution, a rope-based gaming system, identified popular rope games from around the world, incorporating them into a tangible rope interface where the focus is collaborative play. A compact motion-sensing and force-feedback module allows users to jump rope, fly a kite, ride a horse and a number of physical activities that connect players across virtual spaces.

Future Playstation 4?

3:11 pm in Gaming by Troy Turner

I love me some Playstation! Not only does this PS4 concept have a natural and believable aesthetic evolution from the PS3, but it is composed of 60% recyclable materials, making it a much greener choice. It also uses 0 watts in standby mode, and with its ECO Restart function games can be saved, the console turned off, and turned back on to resume exactly where the user left off without the need for a full start up, reducing energy waste and prolonging the life of the unit.Further, the unit will automatically shut off primary power after each 30 minute period of playtime and draw energy from it’s rechargeable battery for 5 minutes. The same feature also assists in preventing data loss during a power outage.

The unit connects wirelessly to any DPConnect TV, detecting the appropriate screen resolution as well as identifying the audio output, all in under 4 milliseconds so it’s ready to roll directly after being removed from the box.

Other features include: -1.5TB HDD, Full 3D 4K2K compatible, DLNA, DPhdmi (HDMI Connect), 3D Blu-ray (Blu Ray “DEUCE” Compatible, 3 times more data than the classic blu ray disc), USB 3.0, DPConnect Bravia Sync, Qriocity, Sony Ericsson sync, Cloud Saving, live TV, and even applications for weather, widgets, Gamespot, news, and more!

Dear Alan,

Apple will love you for your Gaming Pod concept and gamers like me who can’t live without the iPhone for this very reason, will worship you. I hope you can refine it enough to make it a CKIE project. It looks fit enough to protect the device and work in sync with it. I look forward to enhancing my racing-game experience using this sexy contraption. Loads of love, YD.

PlayStation Coffee Table Shows You’re Taking Gaming Too Seriously

8:50 am in Coffee, End & Side Tables, Gaming by chris

While PlayStation, Xbox 360 or Wii consoles should definitely be found in one's home, at least one of them if not all three, creating custom furniture to reflect your gaming passion might be a little too much for some people. But if you happen to take gaming pretty seriously, and some people make a living based on gaming, then this PlayStation Coffee Table is definitely something you might want to consider when it comes to gaming-related furniture pieces. Unfortunately the PlayStation Coffee Table can't be found in stores, at least not yet, as it's a custom table built by an Australian student for his industrial technology class. So what do you say, gamers, would you actually buy the PlayStation Coffee Table? Via Overclockers
