Doorknob-Free Doors Still Open and Close Regularly

8:08 am in Doors, Modern Design, Modern Furniture, Modern Furniture & Design by chris

This is the last thing you'd want to change, but what if your doors had no doorknobs? Would you still be able to open and close them? There would have to be a way to push and pull the door and also keep it looked for most of the day, so how would you manage to do all that without doorknobs? Well it seems that Albed has found a way to make some doorknob-free doors that do away with that particular door element. As you can see in the designs below, the knob is out of the pictures, or, in most cases, reinvented or embedded within the door itself. Some of the models below are actually available to order in case you want to replace your current door with something a little more modern. Via Albed

The NanaScreen folding doors are definitely an impressive addition to any room and you should definitely consider replacing your regular windows and doors with such a design especially if you're in a region with a warm climate. New IKEA LINNARP Glass Door

1:50 am in Doors, Ikea, Modern Furniture, Modern Furniture & Design by Tanya

Love it, or hate it but you cannot ignore it. No, I am not talking about Lady Gaga, but Swedish giants IKEA. While some may turn their nose up on IKEA, I personally love some of their products. Case in point, the new LINNARP Glass Door which is retailing for $100.00 / 2 pack. Designed by K Hagberg and M Hagberg, the door cabinet protects your favorite items from dust and the glass is supposed to be impact resistant. You can order it online from here.

Sliding Wood Doors by Rodolfo Dordoni

4:00 am in Design, Doors, General, Panels, Room by John

These sliding wood doors were created by designer Rodolfo Dordoni for Molteni & C. The product is called Glide and features a series of panels and doors that make up the compilation. The overall design of the product is very minimal to create a blended look in a home where the wood compliments the interior décor. If you like to open up a home and allow the rooms to connect, these types of systems can be attractive as opposed to traditional doors which are narrow in comparison. More information: here.
