Table’s a Little Tricky

3:01 pm in Dining Table, Furniture, Table by Troy Turner

The latest from designer Marc Th. van der Voorn, the Branch table combines solid European oak and steel to create a subtle visual illusion that will stand out as the centerpiece of any dining room. Supported by matte-black steel rods, the thick tabletop appears to float effortlessly above the legs. A bit rustic and a touch modern- there’s no denying the craftsmanship here.

Aqueous Modular Table

Flood, UNOAUNO Studio’s entrance into the 2011 MDF/Cristalplant Design Competition, is a modern & simple modular table solution characterized by both hard lines & vortex-like drops that can be combined into multiple configurations. Composed entirely of Cristalplant’s patented composite material, constituted by a high percentage of natural minerals &  extremely pure polyester & acrylic polymers, the material’s ultra-polished finish enhances the tactile and visual sensation of it’s molten appearance.

Mood Changing Table

3:02 pm in Desk, Dining Table, Furniture, Table by Troy Turner

Designer Simone Savini is known for creating eye-catching, conversation-starting pieces, and this one has got to be my favorite so far. Touch, defined by sharp lines and continuous movement, is coated in a simple heat-sensitive resin coating that fades from black to white, leaving a temporary trace of the last touch or hot object. As the warmth fades the table returns to its original color ensuring a clean slate every time. Say goodbye to boring dinners!

Gravity Defying Table

3:02 pm in Dining Table, Furniture, Table by Troy Turner

I love a design that makes you second-guess what you’re seeing. The Gravity Table by Simone Savini is one of those head-turning designs that will make a fantastic yet refined creative statement.  Its abrupt transparent feet give the illusion that it’s floating on air, while its ghostly minimal body makes it almost seem possible. A great conversation piece that only gets more fun after a few drinks.

Seamless Modularity in a Table

3:01 pm in Dining Table, Furniture, Table by Troy Turner

The Nzela table isn’t just easy on the eyes, it’s also a picture perfect model of simple yet intelligently executed modularity. The table can be rearranged in multiple combinations to suit any space. No-tools required means only 3 minutes to put together, making for quick, seamless assembly and equally easy disassembly and storage. I think it looks great in the neoplastic color scheme shown here, but hues and variations in glossiness can also be personalized from Kayiwa.

What a Stud

3:01 pm in Dining, Dining Table, Furniture, Table by Troy Turner

The appropriately named Stud table is simply handsome. Designed for Odesi by Dutch designer Marc Th. van der Voom, Stud is a sharp design sure to fit naturally in both classic and contemporary settings. It’s robust angular legs take inspiration from the classic form of the telescopic tripod, giving it an unusual yet comfortably open stance. Get it here.

Vice Versa Table and Bench Are Tough as Steel

8:49 am in Coffee, End & Side Tables, Concept, Dining Room, Dining Table, Table by chris

Are you looking for steel tables and benches for your home? Well if that's your odd choice for an actual indoors table then you'll love the Vice Versa table and bench. Created by Cedric Dequidt, the Vice Versa set is made entirely of lacquered steel. Sure that's an unusual name for this table and bench but the explanation appears to come from the symmetry of the horizontal lines of the base of the table. The Vice Versa comes in various colors and while my dining room table won't be made of steel anytime soon I'm sure that various people will fancy this particular table and bench concept. Table Pad Protects Your Dining Table From Scratches And Ring Marks

5:20 pm in Dining Table, Home Accessories by Tanya

Sometimes our furniture has to face the brunt of our social lives especially the dining table, as all the action happens around it! The Table Pad from Crate & Barrel is one of the most nifty home accessories out there since it protects your exquisite dining table without sacrificing the aesthetics. Concealed beneath table linens, the PEVA pad with embossed texture is liquid-proof which means it will protect the table from nasties like scratches. The pad can be cut according to your table size and can be stored in a reusable pouch.
