The Monocasco Concept Bike is an electric version inspired by the original Ossa monocasco bike of Santiago Herrero. Reliving the legacy of the legendary Sabtiago, who died racing his Ossa in the 1970 Grand Prix, this bike is a fitting tribute. The story goes that Ossa abandoned racing altogether after this tragedy.
Despite its bulky outlook, the bike looks like a quirky ride and is nowhere near a racer. Maybe as a sturdy dependable city bike that doesn’t burn much rubber!

By modulating all the fittings and fixtures of a bathroom on just one wall, the Fluid Wall creates an ambience of asymmetrical and organic surfaces. The idea is to highlight the features to just one place and create a focal point. As Jay explains, “Each panel has identical hidden mounting points for easy installation on an integrated mounting system. Panels may be arranged in any configuration. The room may include as few or as many panels as desired.” Very minimal and basic, and just apt for those facing space crunch!

UFO is concept phone that takes advantage of flexible LCD screens and cloud computing. In its usual form the phone sports a widescreen display that enhances user experience. I love the way it moves from a simple phone to an extensive media device. SMS, projector, music player, movies or phone, use this device just the way you want!

Is this the future of transportation?. Two peoples can be travel in this flying machine inspired by a “moving shark”. The whip-like tail acts like a rudder and only touches down when landing. Two small turbines inside the wings provide lift. I know it’s a bit out there but something about this concept makes me smile. Reminds me more of a stingray than a shark though.

Level+ is a level meter concept that uses cross laser lines to ensure precise straight beams that aid in civil work. As the designer explains, “after Level+ is attached to a horizontal plate (via the suction cup), the plummet places itself horizontal, automatically. The power revs up and the cross line laser can be adjusted to project horizontal and vertical lines.” So the next time you embark on hanging a picture on the wall, trust the Level+ to help you hang it straight!

Very rarely do designers venture into the BlackBerry turf. I think the perception of it being a serious business phone deters concept enthusiasts. For the moment we have this refreshing concept, which capitalizes on the new screen technology that is flexible, lightweight and transparent. Iterated as candy bar and a slider, the phones feature a “smart” wrap around screen and knows the difference between an intentional command and a hand holding the phone!
John explains, “The front and back cameras are positioned underneath the screens. When needed the area around the camera lens becomes transparent. The wrap around screen can allow for separate workspaces and/or a more three-dimensional interaction with the device. Obvious benefits apply to business, entertainment and navigation applications.”

Framer Concept Camera is an easy to use digital camera that makes picture-take a less stressful job. Forefingers and thumbs have often been used as an intuitive benchmark for focusing and clicking photos; Chun uses this same principle in making his device more user-centric. We are a photography-inclined generation and innovations that focus on not overwhelming us by simplifying tech advancements are always welcome.

The Autonome is a mobile phone concept with a unique charging feature. The regular way to do this will be to directly plug-in the phone to the wall socket, negating the use of any cables. Alternatively, you can detach the specialized module, tank it up and then hook it back to the phone and transfer the juice. This ways you get the freedom to use the phone whilst charging the extra ammo. I love the magnesium unibody frame designed for this, and of course the practical solution for charging. Ideal for travelers too!

Möwe – Dream Paper Concept looks at the possibility of having intelligent paper that prints, auto cuts and folds 3-D paper projects. A lot of folks indulge in 3-D scale models and it is an interesting hobby. Mac takes the idea a step further by suggesting that what if we could control “where and how far to fold and also when to fold via Bluetooth or WiFi, it means you could move paper as you like without touching it. (It’s like embedding Javascript in paper!)” Building models from Google 3D Warehouse would be child’s play even for the non-devout! Awesome!
