Very rarely do designers venture into the BlackBerry turf. I think the perception of it being a serious business phone deters concept enthusiasts. For the moment we have this refreshing concept, which capitalizes on the new screen technology that is flexible, lightweight and transparent. Iterated as candy bar and a slider, the phones feature a “smart” wrap around screen and knows the difference between an intentional command and a hand holding the phone!
John explains, “The front and back cameras are positioned underneath the screens. When needed the area around the camera lens becomes transparent. The wrap around screen can allow for separate workspaces and/or a more three-dimensional interaction with the device. Obvious benefits apply to business, entertainment and navigation applications.”

Framer Concept Camera is an easy to use digital camera that makes picture-take a less stressful job. Forefingers and thumbs have often been used as an intuitive benchmark for focusing and clicking photos; Chun uses this same principle in making his device more user-centric. We are a photography-inclined generation and innovations that focus on not overwhelming us by simplifying tech advancements are always welcome.

The Autonome is a mobile phone concept with a unique charging feature. The regular way to do this will be to directly plug-in the phone to the wall socket, negating the use of any cables. Alternatively, you can detach the specialized module, tank it up and then hook it back to the phone and transfer the juice. This ways you get the freedom to use the phone whilst charging the extra ammo. I love the magnesium unibody frame designed for this, and of course the practical solution for charging. Ideal for travelers too!

Ever fantasized about an Apple Camera? I know they are doing a decent job with the iPhone and dedicated apps make the experience of going click-click even better. But just for a Moment, stop in your tracks and let go of all your reservations…and then picture the Apple Camera, is it as innovative as the QuickTake Concept? Maybe not, so step right in to know more….
Features
- Never seen before design using glass and recycled aluminum
- Long battery life
- Graphic interface (GUI) looks like an iPad with full touch screen
Microphone and Voice Control
- The Quicktake is the first smart digital camera
- It includes a microphone that can record HD sound while eliminating unwanted noise around
- Allows recordings according to the modes, focusing on a particular sound while minimizing others (video mode)
- Voice Control lets you take pictures or choose the options with your voice
- In self-portrait mode (or when you use a tripod), it’s enough to say “Cheeseeee” for example for the device to make a statement and take the picture
- Voice control also allows to settle the device according to the modes
Camera Lens
- Camera lens takes 32 MP, 1080P videos without compression
- This is the first rotating camera lens in the world
- The “Eyefocus+” in video mode can target the person by reproducing the effect of the human eye, (the camera lens can be rotated a few millimeters to the left and right as human eyes to capture more images) creating an unprecedented focus effect. There are different modes, such as slow motion video, 3D panorama mode, HDR, the burst mode at 60 frames per second, image stabilization, smile detection and tracking of the eyes, never to lose the only right time, anti blur mode, most advanced in the world
- Integrated LED flash units operate independently of each other to deliver perfect photos and videos even in low light, automatic red-eye removal etc.
Retina Mini Cinema HD touchscreen with IPS technology
- The Special feature of this digital camera is the fact that the extra wide screen can be swiveled 360 °.
- Take a picture of startling self-portrait regardless of their quality
- Once you have rotated the screen, the device goes into portrait mode by default
- The Touch HD screen is LED backlit, with high pixels per inch
- The light sensor adjusts the screen brightness automatically
- Zoom with your fingers like smartphones
Calendar Pics
- This feature lets you group photos based on several criteria, faces, dates taken, places etc.
- You can take pictures based on those previously taken, which simplifies the settings
Battery
- Battery is integrated into the Quicktake, which is charged with 30 pin dock connector from Apple
- It also supports GPS, Wi-Fi, Airprint, Airplay, Photobooth, auto modes, strong Edit modes, autofocus (AF), HD speakers, automatic upload to Youtube, Flickr
- Even if the display is closed, proximity sensor that adjusts the settings as you are very close or very far from the camera

Möwe – Dream Paper Concept looks at the possibility of having intelligent paper that prints, auto cuts and folds 3-D paper projects. A lot of folks indulge in 3-D scale models and it is an interesting hobby. Mac takes the idea a step further by suggesting that what if we could control “where and how far to fold and also when to fold via Bluetooth or WiFi, it means you could move paper as you like without touching it. (It’s like embedding Javascript in paper!)” Building models from Google 3D Warehouse would be child’s play even for the non-devout! Awesome!

As intuitive as touchscreen tablets maybe, I think there are certain situations where you wish you could add on the keyboard for a more comfortable laptop experience. PC Digital Skin addresses this need in a very clever way. It is the combination of a tablet, a mobile phone and a lizard-skin cover, which doubles up as a Bluetooth keyboard. All three used together, give you the perfect laptop experience and yet retain their individuality.
The trinity sync via Bluetooth and the natural texture of lizard skin conceal the keyboard seamlessly. Very clever indeed!

Mobikoma is a concept phone based on modules that fasten on to each other via micro locks. Each module has its own power supply and computing processor making it a powerful individual. However the purpose is to use them collectively as a phone and if you’re in the mood for it, a mini tablet. There are two specific elements dedicated to the SIM storage with phone memory and microphone. These elements are distinguished with their fancy etchings on the back.
Proposed Specs
- From two of these concept elements you can design mini cell phone sized 22mm x 44mm x 6mm.
- On the key elements there are programmed buttons.
- Other elements are without buttons.
- On the lateral surfaces in the middle of the fixing tape there are apertures.
- The locks of elements become apart after pushing by pin or similar subject in these apertures.
- You can design a new needed form from these elements.
- The touch screen needs thermal and kinetic operator energy for charging with the help of special adapter.
- This tablet has all kinds of wireless communication (wi-fi).
- Maximal size can be 1.5m x 2m.
- 54 elements – the tablet computer
- 2 elements – little cell phone
- 18 elements – cell phone – backside

Brick is a sleek personal computer with a transparent display that kinda reminds you of concepts that Mac likes to work on. The concept here uses technology to the max by packing in features like magnifier, text translation, video and still photography, projector and much more. Working on the maxim that “a PC is no longer a PC anymore,” the designer duo want to convey that accessible networks and true mobility are the key ingredients of futurist products…even if it’s a PC!

Steve Jobs once said that people don’t know what they until you show it to them. This is probably why we have independent gadgets now vying for integration with features of mainstream products. Can your tablet take good pictures; is your cellphone smart like a computer; can your MP3 player shoot videos? Not only are we duplicating applications, we are also diluting the individuality of a device. I’m not going to judge on the technology wastage here, instead I’ll update you on concepts like the Lifebook. An idea that integrates a tablet, camera, phone and music player to collectively form the hardware for a laptop! They all work independently to support their unique identity and yet unify to create a magical device.
The proposed Lifebook is a laptop computer concept based on the principle of “shared hardware”. Currently a lot of hardware is wasted when we use separate devices, as there is often a lot of “repeat” of data stored and features. For example if I have my songs on my music player, why do I have to block the same amount of storage on my laptop? Similarly, if I have a processor sitting in my tablet, why can it not also run/assist my laptop? If I have a fully functional camera with its own memory and image processing power, why do I need to have it repeated in my laptop?

eXcanvas is for those who like taking self portraits and have to depend upon strangers to do them the favor of taking pictures. The camera can be separated into a tripod and sub camera and features a timer function too. I love the sleek way you can strap the camera on your wrist and click pictures; very convenient!
