Remembrance

3:01 pm in Coffee Table, Furniture, Storage, Table by Troy Turner

I have a strange pet peeve- I hate when people display things on top of their coffee tables. Doesn’t matter if its books, photo albums, or knickknacks… it drives me crazy. Problem solved! Ok, so maybe it’s not really a prob to anyone else, but it’s exactly why I appreciate Mitch Steinmetz’s Rememberance coffee table. Instead of acting as a medium for the user and their entertainment, it becomes the entertainment…Taking the form of the common album, the coffee table flips open to reveal tchotchkes, memorabilia, photos etc., encouraging the creation of new memories while cataloging old ones.

Organic Form, Architectural Structure

3:01 pm in Coffee Table, Furniture, Lamp, Lighting, Table by Troy Turner

Operating structurally like large cradles, the Phil lamp and coffee table by Ignacio Garcia are sure to be attention grabbers in any living space. The lamp’s geometric exterior delicately envelops the light adding softness and casting symmetrical shadows to the surround space while the coffee table’s balanced proportions and soft lines merge nicely with the rigid glass surface.

Break It On Down

3:01 pm in Coffee Table, Furniture, Table by Troy Turner

Let’s be honest, there’s kinda this unspoken understanding that products that are made for efficient transportation will usually reflect it in their design… and not always in a good way. The Complect coffee table is a union of simple home assembly and high quality construction that merge to create a practical flat-packing table without sacrificing style. Complect features bent plywood legs and a solid walnut table top that break down to a height of under 3.5″ and can be assembled within minutes using a common screwdriver. Gotta love this one!

Alternating Current Table

4:01 pm in Coffee Table, Furniture, Table by Troy Turner

Drawing inspiration from the steel lattice of electric transmission towers, the Pylone series of tables incorporates the interwoven support structure of an industrial icon into it’s robust design. The tinted glass top allows the viewer to catch a glimpse of the underlying sharp lines and abrupt connections that shape it’s bare-bones framework.

Can the Pipe Wrench Coffee Table Fit Any Living Room Design?

9:29 am in Coffee Table, Coffee, End & Side Tables, Design, Furniture, Living Room, Modern Design, Modern Furniture by chris

The Pipe Wrench Coffee Table design in the images below looks definitely interesting but will it really fit with most living room setups? The Pipe Wrench Coffee Table is pretty simple. You have a glass tabletop neatly placed on top of a few wrenches that act as the legs of the table. I personally like this Jonathan Niemuth design, and I would definitely see myself using such a coffee table even though it doesn't really fit with any of my regular furniture pieces. You won't necessarily see this Pipe Wrench Coffee Table in furniture stores very soon, but you could always make such a modern coffee table yourself. Anyone else interested in the Pipe Wrench Coffee Table? Via Coroflot

Sweetch18 Is Mostly a Table Unless It’s a Chair

3:27 pm in Chairs & Bar Stools, Coffee Table, Coffee, End & Side Tables, Concept, Furniture, Modern Design, Small Home Furniture by chris

Small home demand appropriate furniture and modular designs might be the way to go. That way you could satisfy all your furniture needs while making the most of your current living space. The Sweetch18 is such a piece of modern furniture, which acts both as a table but also as a chair. However, the Sweetch18 can never be a table and a char at the same time, unless you buy two of them. The Sweetch18 looks pretty comfortable as a chair and seems to be a great coffee table too. The design has won an award in Paris and it will be on display at the Inno Design Tech Show in Hong Kong between December 2-4. Anyone ready to order one? Via Cerekapery

Schulte Design Modern Coffee Tables Come with Moving Parts

11:16 pm in Coffee Table, Coffee, End & Side Tables, Concept, Furniture, Modern Design, Modern Furniture, Tables by chris

Who wouldn't want a coffee table that comes with various moving parts? That way you could adjust its position and its height according to your current needs, not to mention making the most of the limited space you have to deal with. Schulte Design has not one but four such modern coffee tables, the Audium, the Scala, the Oregon and the Scala Quadrat. The first three come just with movable tabletops while the last one will also let you adjust its height. The four coffee tables are very similar when it comes to the general design idea. They all sit on a single leg, which allows the tabletop to move sideways according to your needs. That hard part now is choosing one of the four models available from Schulte Design to be your next coffee table. Via Schulte Design

Petalas Coffee Table Looks Like a Flower But Without all the Perfume

11:05 am in Coffee Table, Coffee, End & Side Tables, Modern Design, Modern Furniture, Table, Tables, Wood by chris

The Petalas Coffee Table is a Brazilian design inspired by flowers. The table is made by the Etel company and uses eight different wood panels to create each petal. The wood is shaped and bent in such a way so each of the eight legs of the table is actually part of its corresponding petal. The Petalas Coffee Table measures 55 x 55 x 12 inches, and I'm sure you'll find an appropriate use for it as soon as you have purchased yours. Now only if there was a way to make these Petalas actually blossom each day and engulf the living room with their perfume... Via Etel

Loop Coffee Table Brings a New Shape to the Living Room

12:29 am in Coffee Table, Coffee, End & Side Tables, Living Room, Modern Design by chris

The Loop Coffee Table is a very interesting coffee table that can also act as a storage solution for your magazine, books and DVDs and anything else you tend to leave around your living room. The Loop Coffee Table is supposed to "mimick the effect of tucking loops into one another" but don't be fooled, as the table is pretty resistant, despite its overall appearance. The table is made of either birch ply or MDF. The Loop Coffee Table will come in various colors and, by bringing a new shape to your modern living room it's sure to brighten up your whole day, even if you're not much of coffee drinker yourself. Coffee Table Or Leather Chair? You Can’t Have Both Simultaneously!

1:14 am in Chairs & Bar Stools, Coffee Table, Coffee, End & Side Tables, Modern Design, Modern Furniture, Modular Furniture, Table by chris

How do you like the leather chair in the images below? Or should I call it a coffee table? Or should I call it a leather chair again? Well in case you will go for this wild design then you'll only be able to use one of these two features at any specific point in time. That means the project below will either act as a comfortable leather chair or as a simple, but very useful coffee table. I personally love modular furniture designs and I'm always pleasantly surprised to see such interesting designs hit the Internet. In case you're thinking about ordering this coffee table / leather chair all-in-one furniture piece remember not to suddenly revert from a coffee table that's in use to the leather chair, as someone might get hurt in the process by the flying coffee pot and cups.
