I-Radium’s Infrared Heaters Look Like Sculptures Rather Than Radiators

4:14 am in Art, General, Radiators, Wood by Tanya

The I-Radium's Infrared Heaters transcends the boundaries of design and form thanks to it's unique styling. Resembling wall art rather than a heater, the series will appeal to the discerning consumer who values both form and function. Constructed from high quality wood, the infrared heaters is environmentally sustainable and visually stunning. The irony of converting wood into an heating object rather than fuel material is not lost on anyone either. The I-Radium's Infrared Heaters comes in an array of shapes but my personal favorites are "Morphosis," which gives an illusion of a wall mounted sculpture and "Gigi," which stands tall and has a very interesting silhouette.

Rebaroque Speakers Also Act As Paintings Hanging on Your Naked Walls

8:06 am in Art, Design, Furniture, Home Appliances, Modern, Modern Furniture & Design, decor by chris

We've seen plenty of furniture pieces with dual use so far and we're certainly not going to stop showing you more. Today we have something else, a speaker set that caught our attention. The Rebaroque Speakers also act as paintings ready to redecorate the naked walls of your new home. The Rebaroque Speakers look like modern paintings, or works of art, since we're looking at more than paint usage here, and they come in regular paintings sizes with frames and everything else that makes them look like, well, paintings. Once mounted on the wall the Rebaroque Speakers will probably deliver the desired sound experience while also pleasing the eye in the process. Unfortunately we don't have specs and features to describe the actual speaker performance so you'll have to check back with the manufacturer for more details. Via Rebaroque

The Sheer Kitchen Makes Entraps a Full Kitchen in a Sphere

12:22 am in Art, Concept, Kitchen Design & Furniture, Kitchen Furniture by chris

The Sheer Kitchen is an interesting kitchen concept that will not only help you make the most of the available space in your apartment but also attract plenty of attention from your friends. From the outside it looks like a perfect sphere and people will think it's supposed to be a modern art object. But when removing the top half, which actually is a section responsible for lighting and ventilation, you'll discover a circular work top, a sink, four burners, bottle coolers, a pull-out tablet, electric outlets for kitchen appliances and some storage space. The oven and the refrigerator together with some cabinets and folded chairs are all held in an independent wall unit also part of this Sheer Kitchen. So what do you say, ready to order a Sheer Kitchen for yourself? Via 2Modern

Artistic Airplane Trolleys by ND Designworks

6:18 pm in Art, Design, General, food by John

It is always interesting to see what type of objects can be made into artistic statements. These airplane trolleys are the very ones that slow up plane boarding to provide food for passengers. Typically they are pretty beaten up just from the normal wear and tear associated with the airline industry. Andreas Flach from ND Designworks has shaped the trolleys into accessories for the house. The 22 carat gold example has gold leaf applied and then varnished on the object. More information: here.

The Interesting CD Wall by Coens

5:46 pm in Art, Cool, Design, Home Storage & Shelving, Interesting, Music, New, Storage, Wall Decorating by John

When do CDs become obsolete and need to serve some other purpose? Coens has championed that thought in their "CD Wall" which melds CD storage into a design idea. Each leave can be installed on a wall and then fanned like a book to allow you to get to the next page of CDs. The CD Wall makes a statement about music storage and what we may see in the future. More information: here.
