Sometimes there is beauty in simplicity and the Balena Bathroom Faucet communicates this design philosophy beautifully. Designer Wen-Yo Lu opts for materials like metal and tinted green transparent plastic to draw attention to the water valves and how they work in tandem with each other. The Balena also has a very intergalactic vibe to it but maybe thats just the sci-fi nut in me talking.

The iHouse Smart Faucet is the perfect example of conceptual ideation and innovative use of technology. Equipped with a facial screening application, this one actually use face recognition technology to turn on water accordingly to ones preferred temperature and flow. The faucet also has a LED that lets user email, calendar appointments among other things. The integrated LEDs in the tap illuminate variation of temperature and also creates a dramatic environment.

The inimitable London designer Ross Lovegrove is back to what he does best i.e. designing products that transcend the mundane and emphasize on reinvention. The visually striking Andromeda LED pendant lamp has been designed for japanese lighting brand Yamagiwa who are marketing it for both domestic and public space. The lamp is made up of LED clusters that are embedded in the crossing parts of the hard polyurethane foam structure and the lamp also features mirrors that can be repositioned reflect the light in different directions.
