Is Green the New Color for Spring?

11:12 pm in Accessories, Lamps by Shellie

Green seems to be everywhere right now in the decorating world so you may find yourself wondering if this is the new color for spring this year or is this color choice simply being influenced by the arrival of St. Patrick’s Day?  If you want to keep up on the latest trends in the interior of your home without making a drastic change and falling into the here today gone tomorrow category, simply add a few accessories.

Face it, green is hot right now but an entire redo of your living room is not absolutely necessary.  Simply adding in a few accessories like a modern table lamp or a few decorative pillows is all that you really need.  This is also the perfect way to add a bit of glam to a black or neutral room.

A modern lamp like the one featured in the picture by Viko will help you keep up with the color of the moment and then when you are bored with it, you can put it in the nursery, office or store it away until next St. Patrick’s Day.  If you are not keen on green, Viko makes their hollow wood lamp in red, blue and orange as well!  You can find this modern accent at Home Decorators Collection.

I was delighted when I received a pair of Get Glovd gloves to review. I was even more thrilled about them when I started researching about the intrinsic natural properties [...]

10:23 pm in Accessories, Design, Home Accessories, Home Appliances by chris

The Orbicle is an interesting gadget you could consider having around the house at some point in the future especially if you happen to live in an area where it rains or snows for longer periods of time. Why? That's because the Orbicle sphere in the images below dries shoes for a living, and it dries them from inside out. This ingenious shoe dryer will never let you leave the house with wet shoes again. Depending on how big your family is you can choose the simple Orbicle sphere dryer that deals with one pair of shoes at a time of the triple Orbicle sphere that can dry more pairs of shoes at the same time. Whatever you choose, you're not going to be sorry, at least not until you'd have to step out in the rain or snow again. Via Yanko Design

No More No Less Quantitative Tap

4:19 am in Accessories, Bathroom, Bathroom Design & Furniture, Faucets by Tanya

Save water, save the Planet. No I have not joined Greenpeace but there is absolute truth in this noble belief and designer Jasper Hou also adheres to it. His "No More No Less," Faucet is a brilliant piece of work as it strives to cut down water wastage and promoting water conservation. "No More No Less," as the name indicates is a quantitative tap that has been equipped with a pre-control. N.M.N.L. that pre-measures the water flow in different settings. The on board LCD screen which is powered by the kinetic energy of flowing water gives information regarding control, temperature etc. There is also a nifty little 30 second meter which turns of the faucet after 30 seconds.

Since the pool is asymmetrical and has a fissure , the water doesn't spill over and hence no wet floors.
