Gift Ideas: Secret North Lava Cube Of Fire Tabletop

12:30 am in Fireplace, Gift Ideas, Home Accessories, Tables by Tanya

This Christmas gift your loved one a fireplace. No I am not getting delusional but actually talking about the rather unique Lava Cube of Fire Tabletop Fireplace. Redefining portable fireplaces, this is not your run of the mill fire-breathing rock and is actually made of "raw" Icelandic lava (now that us impressive). Manufactured by Secret North who hand picked the volcanic rocks after eruptions in Iceland, the fireplace includes a wooden plinth and features an eye-catching black fiber wood symbol. The portable fireplace uses non-toxic bio-gel fuel but the crackling flames are more ornamental as the fireplace is not really designed to warm your abode. You can buy it from here for USD 379.00.

I am the first one to admit, that when it comes to most laptop desks, I run a mile away due to their rather uninspiring aesthetics. Calouette Perpetual Calendar – Save The Date In Style

7:32 am in General by Tanya

The Calouette Perpetual Calendar looks more like a sculptural installation than a calendar. Highlighting the harmonized meshing of two contrasting materials i.e. salvaged timber beam and colorful transparent acrylic tags, the modern perpetual calendar is an urban interpretation of something as prosaic and primordial as a calendar. To use,the owner may choose to mark the acrylic tags as desired with notes to signify important dates. Four different acrylic colors are laser cut individually to create the 366 days of the year. The calendar is available in a number of iterations including as a wall mount application or as a tabletop or shelf avatar.

Gift Ideas: Marmeled Jelly LED Lamps

8:17 am in Gift Ideas, holidays, Lamps, Lamps & Lighting, Led by Tanya

Statuary Warning: Not suitable for individuals that are on a diet!

Quirky yet thoughtful items always makes for the perfect gift and the Marmeled Jelly Lamps seem to fit this criteria. Don't fooled by the jars as the Marmeled Jelly Lamps are not edible and are to be strictly used as lighting objects. The jars light up due it the immersion of high-luminosity LED in the shiny gel and one has to just turn the jar upside-down and place it on the metal lid to switch on the lamp. The Marmeled Jelly Lamps are available in a plethora of colors and can be ordered online from here.

Stunning Ceramic Speaker By Nendo

10:16 am in Gift Ideas, Speakers, TV Stands & Home Theater by Tanya

Looking at the pictures below, one wouldn't guess that they are looking at an audio speaker! The uber chic Ceramic Speaker is the brainchild of Tokyo studio Nendo who collaborated with a traditional Kanazawa-based Japanese potter. Nothing short of a piece of art this speaker is the anti-thesis of the traditional audio equipment. The Modernist/Futuristic footprint was possible thanks to the use of 1mm thick ceramic substrate which has a high heat resistance and works flawlessly with digital manufacturing techniques.

Hikki Wood Fired Bath Tub Is Perfect For Outdoor Bathing

4:25 am in Patio & Outdoor Furniture, Tubs by Tanya

Outdoor bathing culture is really gaining popularity though unless you live in the Southern Hemisphere or some where tropical, its not really recommended right now in winters. The Hikki Bathtub cashes on to this trend and is a stand-alone bathtub that catches the eye instantly thanks to its grandeur and visually imposing design. This almost quixotical tub contravenes most design conventions and is quite a respite from the usual desiccated bath tubs. An alternative to hot tubs, this wood-fired bathtub has been constructed of resistant aluminum and it also comes with a heat-treated birch.
