Puppy Pools

9:53 pm in SixDW: A New Beginning by SixDifferentWays

With temperatures that keep on rising, we can’t forget to show our pups some love during the heat wave! The Paw Pool is the perfect solution to give your pet a dedicated area to cool off from the summer sun.

For larger dogs, there is also a Bone Pool that gives them more room to rinse off.

If you’re a person that loves to pamper your pet, either of these puppy pools can be purchased at One Dog One Bone.

Ella the Umbrella Stand

Meet Ella the Umbrella Stand, designed by Simon Enever.

Ella conceptualizes the vision of an umbrella being stuck in the grass. Real grass grows at Ella’s as dripping rain from umbrellas drain through perforations in the base to water the soil. Made of clear acrylic, Ella is composed of three pieces that easily connect at the base. Soil and seeds are planted at the base after assembly.

On his website, designed Simon Enever says the inspiration for Ella is “a mixture between a drive to re-use wasted household water and to simply use grass to brighten up an otherwise mundane, everyday object.” Ella is an aesthetic solution for the ordinary umbrella stand, and is perfect for entryways and mud rooms.

At least the grass on the Ella Umbrella Stand is easier to maintain than your yard!

For those you love, you sit in a loveseat. For those you just like, here’s the LikeSeat.

Designed by L John Andrew, the LikeSeat is an outdoor seat with a modern steel base. The seat is constructed of hundreds of washers that L John Andrew welded together. Such a common household item is glamorized into a beautiful outdoor LikeSeat! To me, they look like beautiful enlarged sequins.

Rock the Rock Lamp

3:19 am in Modern Lighting, SixDW: A New Beginning by SixDifferentWays

Does your lighting have you in between a rock and a hard place? The Rock Lamp from Diesel with Foscarini is a contemporary lamp that will brighten your spirits, and your decor.

Available in a pendant or floor lamp, the Rock has unique facets on its outer shell as well as the bottom of the lamp, where the light shines through. Available in black or white lacquered polycarbonate, the Rock lamp reflects a strong light, despite its interesting nooks and crannies.

The Rock Lamp is part of the Successful Living Collection, a collaboration between Diesel (the clothing company!) and Foscarini, an Italian lighting company. The goal of the Successful Living Collection is to capture the Diesel lifestyle: “Ironic, unconventional, fun, fiery and creative.”

All Blown Up

Designed by Polish designer and engineer Oskar Zieta, the Plopp Stool looks like the inflatable furniture we’re used to, but it’s not. Available in three different sizes, the Plopp Stool is made from inflated metal. The metal is inflated using a process called FIDU, or free inner pressure deformation, created by Zieta himself. Two ultra thin steel sheets are welded together and then inflated under high pressure.

Although they look light, the Plopp Stools are strong and sturdy. As mentioned before, there are three sizes in the Plopp Family: the Mini Plopp, the Standard Plopp and the Kitchen Plopp. All are available in a variety of fun colors.

What do you think of the Plopp Stools?

Concrete Wallpaper

10:49 pm in SixDW: A New Beginning by SixDifferentWays

A transcendental love for the industrial appeal of concrete is easily exemplified with the Concrete Wallpaper. Designed by Norwegian photographer Tom Haga, each set of wallpaper is taken from high resolution photography, so that the pattern is never repeated.

Washable and UV resistant, Tom Haga’s wallpaper is available in more than just concrete patterns. Haga offers many patterns of concrete, but also has wallpaper of brick walls and bright-colored graffiti. Rolls are offered in widths of 2-feet or 4-feet and heights as high as 25 meters, which is about 82 feet. It can also be cut to size, if needed.

The Concrete Wallpaper would look great in homes, retail stores, offices and even hotels. I also like the brick pattern for a fun city apartment. What do you think about the Concrete Wallpaper? Which pattern is your favorite?

Change Your Wall As Often As You Change Your Socks

2:01 am in SixDW: A New Beginning by SixDifferentWays

Take a peak at these modular wall designs brought to us by 3Form. Both of these two wall systems can be easily removed and rearranged as easily as a pair of socks! Such designs are great for exhibitions, retail stores or any location in which the decor changes often.

The photo above is the Wovin Wall from 3Form that is a series of  alternating tiles matched together to create a three-dimensional design. The Wovin Wall is available in many material options, such as wood veneer, anodized aluminum and polyresin. Depending on the material chosen, there is also a wide selection of color combinations available for the Wovin Wall.

Similar to the Wovin Wall, is the Wave Wall, seen in the second photo here. The wave effect of the Wave Wall is created by placing tiles in grooved aluminum extrusions. It is available in two patterns: continuous or alternating. Made in the same materials as the Wovin Wall, the Wave Wall is also available in a large variety of colors.

I’m thinking these would look great in an office space or hotel, or even as a funky wall piece in your home. Where would you use the Wovin or Wave Walls?
