How cute and clever is this door mat?

It sweetly invites guests in and then tricks them with a quirky message to go away! I wonder how many people would actually notice the message when leaving. Probably not many! Especially if this fun and funky doormat was in front of one of these awesomely colorful front doors shown below.

Streamers as decor for parties have always been versatile for any age. They’re affordable, colorful and add quick pizzazz to any room or venue. And, now decorating with streamers when you’re entertaining doesn’t have to be in the same old twisted across the ceiling way that we’re used to.

As Martha Stewart shows us in the first image, you can line streamers across a table to make a fun table cloth and then wrap the leftovers around jars to create matching candle holders as table decor.

Or, you can still hang streamers across the ceilings and tables yet you can add flavor to them by manipulating them. You can cut the edges of streamers to have fringe, or throw them through the sewing machine to create cute ruffles. Or, you can also make your own streamers by cutting paper to create zig-zag streamers. There are so many ways to spice up streamers for your next party, no matter how old the guest(s) of honor are.

How do you decorate with streamers?

Are you ready for soup season?

After reading this post, hopefully you will be! As everyone seems to be preparing for the chilly weather and the comfort food that comes with it, these soups were easy to find. A few, such as the Chicken Tortilla Soup and Buffalo Wing Soup are both made in the crock-pot, so you can be greeted with a full pot of soup after a long day. Others, such as the Garlic and Greek Soups don’t require much prep time – so they’re quick, easy soups to serve for a weeknight dinner.

Aside from the French Onion Soup, these soups are a bit different than your more-common Chicken Noodle, Split Pea or Broccoli Cheddar Soup. Which one do you think you’ll make?

Greys pair perfectly with brights – like yellows, turquoises and pinks – and work just as well on their own.Plus, there are so many varieties – from light gray to dark charcoal, and all that’s in between – there’s a lot you can do with grey!

Have you gotten caught up in gorgeous greys?

Blue Sofas: Would You Rather?

Three blue sofas, three very different looks. So….

Would you rather the first living room with a tufted periwinkle blue sofa and lucite coffee table?

Or the second room with the baroque-like plush velvet blue sofa and coordinating ottoman that is offset by a modern mirrored coffee table?

How about the third mid-century modern living room that has a tufted turquoise sofa with a solid wooden frame that encases it in?

I love the transitional appeal of the first room, but the drama coming from the second image really  pulls me in! But then I see the tufted turquoise with navy pillows and I’m back to where I started! So, tell me – which blue sofa filled living room would you rather?
