360º of Sound

I’m sure from the looks of it, you could decipher how the Bell Tweeter works. Sound radiates 360º from the cone. Change the volume by spinning the body. There are some definite advantages to this setup over the traditional ones, namely being able to evenly fill a room with sound. With multiple bells, one could easily adapt their current setup to accommodate audio delivered in every direction.

Cradle for Adults

Why should babies have all the fun? We all like to feel comfortable and secure. The Cradle  came out of research regarding children with RMD or rhythmic movement disorder. The chair provides a safe, relaxing environment for them to calm their senses but the solution seemed applicable to anyone looking to escape the rigors of a 9-5 life. The entire piece is flatpack ready and all materials are sourced from environmentally friendly resources, right down to the glue that binds the initial plywood layers.

Music Bell

Glocke is a unique cradle for an MP3 player and is inspired by the Korean Buddhist Bell. The bell works on the principle of resonance and amplifies sound, spreading its outreach. So when you dock the MP3 player on this device, it amplifies the low sound using the glass cylinder and glossy plastic body to full effect. The LED lamps are cute and glow according to the volume of the music…simply magnificent!

Glocke is a 2011 Sparks Awards Bronze winner.

Cycle Tours Are Good!

Bike Guide Concept is an amazing combination of electric bus transportation and cycling, that helps tourist to take in the sights and sounds of Seoul. The way it works is this, at the bus kiosk you key in your places of interest and wait till your bus shows up. The solar powered/electric bus comes with removable cycles and includes navigational gadgets with places of interest strapped on to each bike. So when you reach a tourist spot, you can simple disembark with your bike, and explore the spot by yourself. The navi-gadget helps you get around and brings you back to the bus stop. I think it’s a fun way to explore a city!

Cryptic Time-Telling

This design is for all you decrypting puzzle lovers out there. The Hexagons LED watch uses neon tube-like hexagons to form an esoteric message that displays the time. Hours are shown in green and the minutes are in cyan, and the wearer can also choose between 5 different difficulty settings. Designer Samuel Jerichow says it’s ideal for the “geek within” but even though I might not be able to tell the time, but I’d still rock it. This of course, gets the Tron stamp of approval.

Oyster Cards Get Cute

The Oyster card, London’s electronic travel card system, is something synonymous with natives and visitors alike. Unchanged for 8 years, designer Benjamin Parton thought it was time for a total redesign- something fun and memorable with improved functionality. The Oi is a wearable oyster card that can be worn as a ring or “watchstrap widget.” As easy to identify as it is handy, Oi aims to help ease the confusion caused by passengers fumbling for the old-school cards.

Oi uses the same radio-frequency coil infrastructure as the existing Oyster cards and the final product can be bent and twisted without damaging the internal components and is also unaffected by interference from other radio frequency devices.

Not Your Mom’s Shelf

Well, sort of. Latvian designer Arthur Analt’s Shelf WOW was inspired by the Latvian ethnographic symbol “mara,” a representation of the love and safety given by a mother- and just like “mara,” WOW will cradle and keep all your personal belongings safe-n-sound! The shelf is bent from a single, specially cut aluminum sheet and powder coated in a number of brilliant colors.
