The Crooked House Seems to be Upside Down But It Isn’t

10:52 pm in Architecture, Design, Furniture, Home, House, Interior by chris

The images below show you a Fovea Architects creation, the Crooked House, which seems to be a regular Swiss home that just happens to have tumbled over. But the Crooked House isn't upside down, and looking at it from a closer angle we discover its magic. We have at a two-story home that has an interestingly shaped second floor. The floor in question is inclined at a 40-degree angle but thanks to those huge windows the views upstairs are incredible. Those large windows will let in plenty of light during the day, while also guarding your privacy in the process. And we also assume the inside of this unusual home is filled with out-of-the-box furniture ideas, although the images that we currently have mostly focus on the exterior. Via Fovea Architects

The collection features a plethora of shelving units however, the low table, the bookshelf and the bedside shelving system are its highlight. The bends in the wall-mount units are no coincidence and contribute both to the aesthetical and functional value. RoTenSion Table Combines Wood and Metal for Unique Table Design

9:42 am in Coffee, End & Side Tables, Concept, Furniture Design, Modern Design, Table, Tables, Wood by chris

The RoTenSion Table is a daring table concept that is made from wood and metal and it definitely manages to impress with its uniqueness. The table is made of various layers of wood that intertwine in such a way that the perfectly circular table can be turned into a smaller table and stored away when not needed. In fact, due to the way the RoTenSion Table is built you can create various table shapes out of it by simply rotating the various pieces of circular wood while also adjusting the position of the metal legs. The table can then be placed in different areas of a room for a totally original effect. The RoTenSion Table is definitely an inspiring concept that could turn out to be a lot more useful around the house than you might think. Via Coroflot

Furniture with Memory Table By Agnieszka Lastoa

8:04 am in Coffee, End & Side Tables, Dining Tables, Tables by Tanya

"Furniture with Memory" has been conceptualized by Warsaw-based designer and artist Agnieszka Lastoa and we applaud her for creating a product that is relevant to our times. The collection is a testament to man's technological progress and his yearning for holding on to his roots. The pièce de résistance of the collection is no doubt the a 90-year old oak dining table that has been encased in an electro-polarized glass which when activated, projects digital images on the surface itself.

The Power of the Coffee Table

6:11 am in livingroom by Lauren

The coffee table is an oft overlooked piece of furniture, but the right coffee table can make or break a living room. But what makes a coffee table a coffee table? And what modern styles are out there? We here at Padstyle are here to answer all of your coffee table-related questions.

Possibly the most defining feature of a coffee table is its long, low shape. It normally has shorter legs than a side table or a bistro table, and it is usually oval or rectangle as opposed to circular or square in shape. This is so that it can be placed in front of a sofa and compliment its long form and be at just the right height for easy access to anything on its surface.

However, not all coffee tables are created equal. These basic features don’t come close to describing a truly modern coffee table. Some are tall, some are short; some are wide, some are thin; some are made of wood, some are made of glass; and all of them can compliment their surroundings if placed appropriately.

You can have a coffee table that matches a handful of side tables, or you can create an eclectic look using a variety of shapes and styles. The coffee table you choose can be made of glass, wood, chrome, plastic or any material of your choosing, as long as it is sturdy and stable.

A coffee table is an integral part of a living room, because it centers all the other furniture. Your sofa set will pop if you incorporate the right coffee table – but it could fizzle if you choose the wrong one. Coffee tables are also used as a gathering place, so you’ll likely want yours to be warm and inviting.

Consider size, placement, texture and material when picking out your coffee table – you’ll thank yourself later.

Brasa Fireplaces Are Modern And Eco-Friendly

1:59 am in Fireplace, General by Tanya

There is still time for the onset of winters but who doesn't dream off romantic nights next to the fireplace with a loved one and sipping hot cocoa. The Brasa Fire Series is a modern take on the archaic fireplace and is a sleeker and cleaner alternative to wood or gas fireplaces. All the models in the series only burn renewable, bio-ethanol fuel and make quite a style statement without taking up too much floor space.

R2VAC2 Vacuum Cleaner Doesn’t Like the Dark Side of the Force & Dirt

1:39 am in Concept, Design, Home Appliances, Modern Furniture, Modern Furniture & Design by chris

R2-D2 is the friendly Star Wars droid that will always come to the rescue of Luke, Han or Anakin, if applicable, so you can definitely count on him to fight the Dark Side of the Force and any other kind of dirt in your apartment. Actually when it comes to your apartment R2-D2 will probably send R2VAC2 to the rescue. The R2VAC2 is a concept vacuum cleaner that will always be there, hidden in a closet, but ready to help with cleaning out the house. R2VAC2 is not going to venture out to space, but it will definitely make an impression around the house. But this vacuum cleaner out-of-the-box idea is just a concept for now, so you'll have to rely on your boring unit to deal with all the dirt in your home. Via Agent Spiff
