Belkin Conserve Insight Records Your Energy Consumption

11:53 pm in Home Accessories, Home Appliances by Tanya

"Design with a conscious" is one of those 21st century A&D trends that have really caught on and are no longer associated with tjhe idealists or the eco-police. Every inch of our urban existence is dependent on some form of energy so it makes sense to design products that actually track our consumption. The Belkin Conserve Insight does just that and also gives you information on the amount of CO2 emitted by your appliances, or the cost of operation. So if your refrigerator is consuming too much electricity then chuck it for the environment and even your wallet.

9:34 am in Design, Modern Furniture & Design, Shelves by chris

Cloud computing is something we hear every day now as everyone is talking about how to save or store stuff in the cloud. But what if there was a way to store some stuff on the cloud? That's right, you heard me correctly! You don't have to know the ins and outs of the Internet to store various objects on the Hylla Cumulus Cloud Shelves since they have nothing to do with the online world. The Hylla Cumulus shelves are definitely interesting, easy to mount and fairly cheap at 950Kr (Danish Krone) or about $160 a pop. Or would you rather store your stuff online, in the other cloud, the Internet-based one? Via DesignTorget

Bucky, Foglie, Tabard Lights From Pallucco

7:01 am in Lamps, Lamps & Lighting, Modern Lamps by Tanya

Italian company Pallucco haas always made an impression with their innovative design trajectory and proved time and time again that they are not averse to experimentation. Their Bucky, Foglie, and Tabard lighting units exudes an avant-garde sensibility by bidding adieu to symmetry. Bucky resembles a kite and pays homage to architect Richard Buckminster "Bucky" Fuller, where as Foglie ("leaves" in English) is inspired by nature. Interestingly the third in the line up, Tabard seeks inspiration from something as mundane as a seamless overcoat!

There are new words on every French lips: Verrines and apéritifs dînatoires. And if you wanted to go full-French, you could have an apéritif dînatoire during which you would serve des verrines délicieuses.
